*This includes MAKING the videos, right?

I feel like "video is shown" implies that something was alraedy filmed and is therefore being played back. So I would say, no.

Eeps, not much this week as likely to happen...

Here are mine: $200+$880=$1080:

{048} At least two characters sit down for a meal or snack. (2:1) $680
{049} Sayid dies, or is presumed dead (like Jin on the freighter). (5:1) $200
{050} Hurley shoots a firearm. (15:1) $200

My open plays:
Spoiler:

{011} A Dharma logo is never shown during the episode. (5:1) - $12
{016} It is shown what caused Ben's bruises/cuts before he got on the plane. (6:1) - $12
{028} No new characters (with speaking lines) are shown. We've seen every speaking character in this episode before. - (7:1) $10
{029} Sayid is shown building/repairing/fixing something. (14:1) $50

Score: $1852 + $200 = $2052

This week:

{045} An episode contains scenes set in Korea. (7:1) - $684
{046} A polar bear or polar bear skeleton is shown. (5:1) - $684
{047} A Dharma video is shown. (4:1) - $684

Regarding No. 47, I agree that the actual filming of a Dharma video doesn't count. Only the showing of all or part of one should count. If they show someone editing footage of a new Dharma video, that would count because the footage would be shown on some kind of display.

In case it comes up: I also believe that security monitor 'footage' shouldn't count, be it a live feed or recorded experiment. My interpretation would be something like the Dr. Hanso videos/orientation films.

I'll be sitting pretty if the following happens tonight:

A polar bear goes nuts and damages the submarine. Sayid uses his skills to fix the sub. Kate is so happy she kisses him on the lips. They both have lunch and sail off to Korea.

This one might be too early to call definitively. The island has a history of saving people it needs. While it seems likely he is dead, there is a chance he may survive.

Much like Locke survived being shot because he didn't have a kidney, Ben may survive because he doesn't have a heart. ;)

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

However, if Ben does die, then this one is true as well.

{030} Sayid kills a "named" character (not a red-shirt or new-to-that-episode) character. (20:1)

The Bus 03-26-09 10:20 AM

Re: TV Talk's The LOST Game

Well, let's call it this way. If Ben doesn't appear to be alive by the next episode, then "Benjamin Linus" dies is a true bet.

I meant to add this to clarify the rules:

All bets assume that this is the last episode of the series.

So even if Ben isn't dead, he's presumed dead and the show hasn't given us any clues that he would be alive.

In this case, since I didn't mention it before, we'll give the show one more episode to clarify what happened to Ben.

Hate to the picky person of the game, but I'm getting ready to score it and want to be sure before I do.

What were the three continents? I got Asia (Iraq and Moscow) and North America (Los Angeles and Dominican Republic). What is the third?

The new rule sounds like a good idea.

As for Ben's status, as I see it 18 & 30 win this week if they find Ben's body in the jungle in next week's episode. If Ben is still breathing and he dies in the Dharma hospital, 18 & 30 are winners next week. If he survives, then both are off.

Obviously if Ben does die, it throws a monkey wrench into the space-time continuum, but that discussion is for the episode thread.
