Re: The Bachelor (Jason)
Is it that bad? It's kind of a shitty for the dumpee, but would it be showing good values if he stayed with, and married, someone he wasn't in love with? People break up all of the time because they like someone better. This just happened to be on TV, which is the danger you face when you sign on for a show and think you can fall in love with someone after a few dates over a few weeks. There is a reason only one of the couples have gotten married: the whole thing is unrealistic. I could go and match up couples on the street and probably get 1 out of 15 right, which is basically what the show has done. If you go on this show and realistically think you will find permanent love, you are kinda delusional.

I watch this show because I like how crazy women get when they have to openly compete for a desirable guy.
I only watched the Deanna Bachelorette show, but I thought it was hilarious how much less drama there was.
Also, I thought Deanna was a horrible person from when she first was on the Bachelor, and my opinion of her has never changed. She's just a bitch.
I think that what Jason did was, strange. It's hard to relate to it because how many of us have had 25 women competing for our affection at once? Then you have 2 girls who KNOW you are dating someone else as well. It's just an unnatural situation to be in.
Also, I will say that at least he did it on TV, and accepted the fact that he would look like an asshole. It happens all the time in real life.
How many people break up without "something else" out there? Let's not kid ourselves. It's the rare breakup that neither person has someone waiting for them on the other side.

I'm thinking that this kid was told that the dumpee was going to be his new step mom.. maybe there was talk about weddings, her moving in, etc..he probably bonded with her.... all this after only 'dating' (and I use that word lightly) for what? 6 -8 weeks? And after he 'dated' and made out with the other 20+ other women?
I got a chuckle out of ABC plugging the kid factor and what a great dad Jason was.. give me a break. He parades his young son (who experienced his parents divorce at a very young age) in front of millions of people, parades him in front of the 'prospects' and then as I said, probably filled his head w/ all the gooey wedding and new step mom stuff and then dumps her and proceeds to pick up the runner up.
Imagine when he's about 13 and his buddies dig up all the You Tube clips of his dad making out w/ 20+ women.
Yeah, good values to show your kid.
I have no problem with him doing what ever the hell he wants on this tv show.. Why drag the kid into it?
Shame on him.
Shame on his ex for agreeing to allow her child be exposed to all this.
And shame on me for getting suck in for the last episode.

The bachelor was on Kimmel after the show aired and he implied that his son Ty didn't see the girls as his new mommy--that they were no different than the production people he met on the show.
I agree the whole premise of the show is faulty. How do you go on a reality show to marry someone you've only known for weeks and who has to compete for your affection?
Jason, I would watch out if I were you. Everyone is talking about spitting on your face if they saw you. I can imagine complete strangers will slap him, spit in his food at restaurants, curse him, read him the riot act, etc. for months now.

Sad that people will get that into someone just from a TV show.

I think this show finally jumped the shark. Shows like this that feed off human heartbreak are just utter crap. Jason is a tool and the real victim here is his poor son. Molly's a moron for actually taking him back.

Here's some interesting Bachelor related news - Melissa will be on Dancing with the Stars - she is a replacement for somebody else who hurt her knee.
Of course Melissa is a former cheerleader, but she also has trained in ballet so it may be a very interesting show. I'm glad that she has oportunities popping up now - I don't see her being single and the dumpee anymore in life.

She will continue to be the dumpee until she figures out why she is attracted to guys who will do that to her.
Also, can we stop with the "son is a victim" bullshit. Why is his son a victim? He doesn't seem to be starving. He seems well-adjusted. It's time to stop acting like kids are so fragile. Everyone needs to handle some strange or adverse situations in life. Let's not act like because his dad had some fucked up shit on the Bachelor that he is ruined now. I'm sure that he will be perfectly fine.
Let's not act like this situation was any different than what has happened a billion times in the past with the average person. Someone left someone for another person. Shocker I know. It's very public, but it's still the same story. People are acting like he is Hitler for nothing.

The son was present in an early episode, but didn't meet any of the girls until the final two and at that time he was also surrounded by family (uncles and aunts, grandparents, etc) plus the production crew so the two women were just two more faces to play with.
Did the son develop a relationship with Melissa during the holiday season when she was at the house? I'm sure he did, but less than if Melissa had actually lived in Seattle and was always around the son. Divorced parents date on a regular basis, what was done with the son was very protective.
