Thanks guys, this thread made me buy the first four seasons on DVD (not getting the fifth one). It cost me less than $30 but dammit I thought I had nearly stopped buying DVDs!

Newsradio really was ahead of its time and out of place on NBC in the 90s.
NBC was totally invested in chasing the Friends formula or sitcoms about single women.
Now, Newsradio's brand of workplace absurdity looks like a template for 30 Rock.

This was a great series. I need to revisit it sometime. It appears that it will still hold up.
