The person who programs this stuff should be fired.
There are two types of Sci-Fi Originals -- the miniseries like The Lost Room, Dune, and the Battlestar Galactica pilot, which are generally very good, and straight-to-video dreck that Sci Fi snaps up for cheap. Since the purpose of the latter is to fill time on Saturday nights when no one's watching, and they're probably the cheapest way to do it, I don't see anyone getting fired over it.

As for crap like Ghost Hunters and ECW, Sci Fi had a press release last week about how those are their most popular shows.crap

Hey now, Ghost Hunters is one of my favorite shows. Don't really watch the Sci-fi channel beyond that.

YES! I remember seeing that late at night and couldn't turn away from it because it was so incredibly awful. I still don't know if it was trying to be good by being bad, or if it was just plain bad.

If you ignore Doctor Who, The Sarah Jane Adventures, Eureka, reruns of Lost and Special Unit 2, and their occasional miniseries (which is how BSG began, remember) then sure.
Ok, I will agree Eureka is ok, but beyond that I am not to crazy about their programming. I like Stargate, but their habit of taking a whole day and devoting 4 hours to it, among others is annoying. They rarely play a decent classic sci fi movie. And original movies just suck. Everytime they redo the whole Global Warming has created the latest Monster, Killer Storm or whatever I just want to puke.

I totally agree; less of the films and more of the shows like Seaquest DSV, War of the Worlds, The Outer Limits(95) and The Twilight Zone(original and 85). Or make original content that deals with more horror aspects than just exploration-style stuff. Anything but more crappy films:

Ominous Announcer Guy: "When aliens come for dinner, you become the meal! Mark Hamill and Tracy Morgan star in the SciFi Original Film, Space Grub. Part of an all new Saturday SciFi Crapfest brought to you by Domino's Pizza and the new Fudg'ems Chocolate Dessert."

Any chance they'll bring back "Mysteries from Beyond the Other Dominion"?!

Wasn't there an uprising in the future during the last set of news feeds?

I would argue Stargate Atlantis, but they're taking that off the air too.

Yes, because wrestling has always played such a crucial role in sci-fi. How dare anyone complain about a fake sporting event being aired on a channel supposedly devoted to science fiction.

Fiction, yes. Science, not so much.

I'd say the steroids qualify as science.
