NBC Cancels My Own Worst Enemy and Lipstick Jungle
#51
I watch and if it gets canceled ... oh well. I at least got to enjoy a good show for a handful of episodes. I am not going to deny myself a good show just because it probably won't last.

I still have 2 unwatched episodes of MOWE on my DVR. It was an ok show, but I wasn't in love with it, and I am not saddened by the cancellation.
Lipstick Jungle, on the other hand, had become a pretty good show. I am sorry to see that one go.

You can't get me to watch a show starring Christian Slater. As for Lipstick, I never watch that one either. I bet more T&A would have helped and taking it to premium cable like SATC.

Now that My Own Worst Enemy has gotten the axe, I hope that NBC will bring back Medium sooner instead of January. Medium seems to be the only show that's had decent ratings in the Monday at 10pm timeslot.

ABC is not a real network.
They are the only network that does not carry NFL football so they are the laughingstock of the 4 major networks.
ESPN does not count.
Will NBC air the remainder of the shows on the web or dump them on Saturday nights?

NBC did the same thing to My Own Worst Enemy that they did to Journeyman - they stuck it in a time slot after a show with declining ratings and pitted it against one of the CSI shows. You don't do that to rookies. Although, at least NBC advertised Worst Enemy; they didn't do squat for Journeyman.

Studio 60-really liked the show. canceled
Journeyman-LOVED this show. canceled

Maybe now Christian Slater will have time to work on a sequel to Pump Up the Volume.

New York Times also says Lipstick Jungle isn't dead yet.

I just deleted the 6 episodes I had backed up on my DVR because I was running out of space. I guess I could catch up on Itunes later.

I learned from Gilmore Girls not to dismiss a show just because it's a "chick show". I missed the first 3 seasons of GG because of this bias and I swore not to let that happen again. Good writing/acting is good entertainment whether it's a chick show like this or a macho show like The Unit, both of which I watch regularly. And while I'll admit that I may not enjoy this show as much as The Unit, I have no problem following the lives of these very attractive cougars (especially Victory -- Christ I love Victory) on a regular basis.

I call shenanigans with the way the ratings system works.
Ever notice when you watch an episode of your favorite show and you think to yourself "Wow, that was one of the best episodes ever." it always scores high in the Nielsens? How did all the Nielsen families know it was going to be one of the best episodes ever? So they coincidentally gathered around the TV to watch it without knowing this beforehand? Likewise, if an episode is really bad, how did they know to avoid it like the plague that night? It seems to me if a show is bad, a Nielsen family is too embarassed to admit they watched it, but if it's good, they happily list it on their little time card.

Mod note:
I have deleted quite a few posts that were just arguments about football, including many that contained personal attacks. Please stay on topic here. If you wish to debate football, minus the personal attacks, please take it to Sports Talk.
Thanks.

Unfortunately Lipstick is just not one of these good "Chick" show. Its horribly written and not entertaining in the least.
