I still love the show - the one liners are great!

Joy is alway on the $, Randy is less anoying this year.

This is one of my must see shows. I also love that it is 1/2 hour!

It's dropped off a little for me this year but have been enjoying the episodes nonetheless.

I dumped it midway last season. Can't cover everything in the timeslot with my DVRs and it was the show I least cared for.

I'd say it sounds a lot different than the Smallville episode. Getting superpowers from gum sounds like a stupid concept. A white trash woman wanting a necklace she saw advertised on TV by a minor celebrity makes perfect sense. If the object of Joy's desire had been a fictional necklace, I doubt anyone would've given the plotline a second thought.

It's a lame tie-in and makes you forget whatever good may have happened the rest of the episode.
It sounds like the opposite was true for most people: they forgot the tie-in even happened and remember the good from the A story for that week.

I still watch it and still like it quite a bit. I don't think the show has lost anything at all. I am looking forward to the series finale...I forget exactly when they said they would end the show...I think they were planning 5 seasons but I could be mistaken but it should be interesting to see
Spoiler:
how they kill Earl off

I never really participated in any of the threads on the show in the past so I didn't even notice discussion about the show dropped off. I don't know...I guess I don't feel a need to discuss comedies in threads. Lost, more drama type shows I enjoy discussing online, but I've never really added much to sit com threads other than a random post here and there.

Pretty much all of my thoughts have been summed up here already.

I DVR the show, then let it sit until there is nothing else to watch on TV. I would not really miss it if it were gone, but it is OK to have around for now.

Is that spoiler speculation or something that you read/heard from a reliable source?

Spoiler:
I would think the show would end with Earl just finishing the list. Him dieing is a possibility but seems too serious for a light hearted show.

Spoiler:
It also would fly in the face of the entire concept. Why punish him with death after he's finished the list and made up for all his wrongs? Unless the message is now there's balance and he's no longer needed and that's his Karma. Way too heavy-handed for a silly comedy.

I'd watch if Norm Macdonald was a regular.

I like it this year. Getting back to the concept as set out in S1. S2 was a dramatic fail.

I think you meant S3, which was the previous season aired, with Earl in Jail for part of it. S2 was basically a lot like S1.

If the OP loves this show so much, why doesn't he/she take the initiative to start the episode threads then?

I bailed out after that stupid imagination show last season, that was way to stupid for me. I still watch it from time to time but I think the show has lost its magic.

I'm just too lazy, I guess.

I was really just wondering because two weeks went by with no new threads about the show.

I loved the first two seasons. Liked most of the third - they got a bit off track and the writer's strike didn't help matters.

This season seems to be in a better grove.

Perhaps this show just needs a season discussion thread rather than individual threads.

I gave up on the show after last season. I hated the whole prison/coma plot.

Season 2 was the worst and made me want to stop watching...I thought the first half of s3 was decent but the last half (coma) was lackluster - however I think this season has been the best one yet. Each episode has been pretty damn funny and it's easily on par if not better than Season 1 - however it may end up being a case of too little too late, since most viewers have already jumped ship.
