So what was the deal with this one? They go through all that and it ends up being some completely random crime?
I would assume they'll revisit this one in the future.

yeah, they have to revisit it. In the coincidences of all coincidences, I was thinking the "other phone number that was accidentally texted" was going to be the attorney's boyfriend or something, and he was going to turn out to be the killer.

Seemed like Nick found his own 'Lady Heather.' Loved that Greg may actually have a love interest. Riley and him have some pretty solid chemistry. Also, there was more Liz Vassey than normal and Hodges still mentioned hiring another CSI. I'm still holding out hope.

I mentioned that in the last thread. They are totally overselling Gil's 'mopey ass,' and totally pussifying his character just to write him out.

Can you honestly blame Gil for being depressed?
A guy who he probably considered his son (Warrick) was murdered and the woman who he thought was the love his life left him once again.
I enjoyed this episode and loved seeing Lady Heather return. I think Melinda Clarke and Petersen have 1000 times better on screen chemistry than any scene he had with Jorja Fox. I hope this episode finally brings some closure to the Sarah and Grissom story, although I doubt it.
