Yeah I'm sure her new college buddy was just a red herring. I see Pam and Jim's relationship as the core of the show, the one normal thing to hold onto to keep the show somewhat grounded in reality.

Well, I hope you guys are right about the red herring. I'm saving a link to this thread for a bittersweet "I told you so," though.

I disagree. This show has been very good to avoid crap like that, and that ain't gonna change now.
They were only showing that Pam is making friends.

That was why I felt the need to post. If most of the posts had been not positive, then I would not have post.

Gotta keep you guys on your toes!

Spoiler:
Roy's back!

Looks like he's not back for Pam though, but he might put some worries into Jim about being away from Pam and susceptible to other guys.

Sounds interesting.

Indeed, considering
Spoiler:
Pam's classmight does resemble Roy, and he seemed to be trying to make a move on her in the season premiere.

It also helped push Jim to stop stalling with his proposal.

I wonder how much more we'll see of Pam away at school. She's only gone for the summer, which was largely covered in this episode. I don't think that separation is going to last. She'll be back in Scranton pretty quickly.

I read somewhere that they want to cover Pam at school as much as they did Jim while he was at the other branch, which would seem to be a fair amount.

I know Jan is already pregnant, but is there any chance Angela might be pregnant, too? The office weigh-in amount kept going up even though everyone was supposed to be dieting and she has been sleeping around with Dwight. It would make for an interesting surprise since it sounds like Andy and her haven't slept together yet.

I may be mistaken, but at least in the actor's commentary from the dvd, it seemed like they thought the office split had been a bad idea.
