I think that was the first time in the American version that Gordon said something positive about a dish. That's one thing that has always bugged me. In the UK version the food isn't always utter rubbish. There might be a problem with a dish or two, but in general there's something on the menu he likes. But in the American version he hates everything.

I noticed very clearly in this episode that Gordon's wearing an earpiece, which means that the producer is off camera somewhere feeding him things to say and do. That pisses me off.

And while I am getting pretty weary of how phony and doctored the whole thing is becoming, the one thing that keeps me watching is that no one is doctoring up how filthy these places are. And that needs to be exposed.

I wonder if it was a hearing aid.

I'd like to see something different for a change.
I think that's why I'm starting to prefer the similar Tabatha's Salon Takeover on Bravo... that show is actually upfront about their 'pattern', even going so far as to put up title cards (The Takeover, The Renovation), and yet it still seems more natural and much less scripted than KN.

Well if you visit the BBC America website, there are clips from the show. I don't think you can find full episodes.

There was one episode were he was very positive about at least one dish. I forget the name of the episode/restaurant, but it was the one with the owner, who was also the cook, that didn't talk very much. He had the floor manager that cried all the time and had all of the ridiculous signs and promotions. It was profiled in this season's opener as one of the successful restaurants.
