While not anything to do with the retarded music industry, it is still due to the short-sighted greed of studios painting themselves into a corner: why don't the idiots split it even over Adam West's Batman and move on? With that sort of attitude, they deserve to be ripped off through bootlegging and piracy they are encouraging.

And while I'm no huge fan of McGann's ill fated Doctor Who: The Movie, that for some reason is unavailable on R1 DVD, but like Ally McBeal, Quantum Leap, and The Six Million Dollar Man, it was released without any silly clearance snags on R2.

One burning question I have about R2 releases with ANY show in the US that is being held up by music rights is why don't they release it on R2 DVD in the UK? Enough fans over there of any given us show would justify it and the US fans who want the show would pony up the money to import the sets. It would be a win/win situation.

This really mystifies me. One show I've been waiting for is Molly Dodd, which always had a Brit com feel to it anyway, so it would fit in on R2 DVD in the UK just fine. But it can't come out in America because of music rights.

Why did Sony not publish Dark Skies properly on R2, where the show went down better with the European viewers anyway, instead of selling the rights to a small company that went into administrations a few months later? But then again we are talking about dumbfuck Sony here.

Then we have Moonlight bizarrely coming out R2 DVD way before the R1 DVD has even been officially announced (!?) while I'm starting to get worried about Season Two of James Wood's Shark not getting mentioned already.

Now & Again - fantastic show.

I'd say Boomtown had it not already been released, fantastic writing and show cut short for reality crap.

4 years and except for L&O, still nothing.

I'll also add American Dreams beyond S1.

LA Law season 1 is out. It's still expensive (fifty dollars according to Amazon).

I'd love to see the next seasons of Pickett Fences.

Hmmmm. I use tvshowsondvd.com to track TV-on-DVD releases, and they don't list it.

edit: it looks like the product on amazon isn't an official US release.

The New Mike Hammer. The 80s version with Stacy Keach. They have the Mike Hammer from the 50s? and 90s out on DVD but not this one.

Re: TV Shows You Like to See on DVD.

4 years after my first post in this thread and still not even a glimmer of hope for Ed.

I will likely die, having never owned it on dvd. The fans of the show could and would have raised money to pay for the music rights, but now I don't think that's the issue. I don't think they want to even release it 8 years after it went off the air.

Can't think of a better show for Shout! Factory either and really believed they'd come through on this. Not anymore.

I'd love to see the rest of Hill Street Blues and Amazing Stories. Hopefully, they'll keep putting out the entire series (well, at least the first 5 seasons) of Are You Afraid Of The Dark ?

I would prefer Blu-ray, but I'll take DVD over nothing.
