And while I'm no huge fan of McGann's ill fated Doctor Who: The Movie, that for some reason is unavailable on R1 DVD, but like Ally McBeal, Quantum Leap, and The Six Million Dollar Man, it was released without any silly clearance snags on R2.

This really mystifies me. One show I've been waiting for is Molly Dodd, which always had a Brit com feel to it anyway, so it would fit in on R2 DVD in the UK just fine. But it can't come out in America because of music rights.

Why did Sony not publish Dark Skies properly on R2, where the show went down better with the European viewers anyway, instead of selling the rights to a small company that went into administrations a few months later? But then again we are talking about dumbfuck Sony here.
Then we have Moonlight bizarrely coming out R2 DVD way before the R1 DVD has even been officially announced (!?) while I'm starting to get worried about Season Two of James Wood's Shark not getting mentioned already.

Re: TV Shows You Like to See on DVD.
4 years after my first post in this thread and still not even a glimmer of hope for Ed.
I will likely die, having never owned it on dvd. The fans of the show could and would have raised money to pay for the music rights, but now I don't think that's the issue. I don't think they want to even release it 8 years after it went off the air.
Can't think of a better show for Shout! Factory either and really believed they'd come through on this. Not anymore.

I'd love to see the rest of Hill Street Blues and Amazing Stories. Hopefully, they'll keep putting out the entire series (well, at least the first 5 seasons) of Are You Afraid Of The Dark ?
