Wow. I'm surprised no one posted this yet.

Probably one of the most amazing Olympic swimming moments in history, if not the Olympics in general. I am biased towards the winners, but unbelievable nonetheless.

I recently upgraded my HD-DVR to a terabyte hard drive, so I finally have oodles of space. I set a season pass for the NBC coverage so I am recording everything. I just FF through the events I don't care about it and watch everything I want to see. I have found myself enjoying some sports I wouldn't have normally watched that way.

We have. Go to the sports forum and there's another thread about the Olympics.

Congrats to Michael Phelps. However, swimming doesn't hold my interest. I prefer to watch diving.

Those fencing outfits looked like astronaut gear and the screaming by the women was just too loud. Strange Olympic sport.

So, it looks like the Chinese have their own lip syncing controversy!

It kind of reminds me Martha Wash / Black Box controversy!

Well, that and C+C Music Factory, Milli Vanilli and if you want to go back further My Fair Lady with Audrey Hepburn with Julie Andrew's voice.

Really? Considering how ancient Sword play is I think it's perfect. Especially when compared to other "sports" they've featured in Winter and Summer Olympics.

< Loves all areas of Fencing, but hasn't seen any of the '08 Fencing events.

Actually, that would be Marni Nixon's voice.

I don't get badminton as an Olympic sport. They serve underhand... I don't know. Just seems out of place there.

Here's a question, how late have some of you stayed up watching Olympic coverage?

I could only go up to 3am before I start getting really sleepy. Luckily I work nights.

I've been trying to watch some of the USA and MSNBC late coverage, but it's tough staying awake.

10:30 pm (last night) and I know that on the West Coast we are seeing a 3 hour tape delay even though it says 'Live' (which it is on the East Coast).

i'm surprisingly very into some of the events this time around mostly bc of Phelps and his amazingness. even though he is favored in everything, it is still exciting when he wins and breaks records by a lot. last night's 4x200 was utterly thrilling and was so hoping they would go under 7min and sure enough. i was just in awe and how far ahead the guys were.

also, watching beach volleyball (women's a bit), some gymnastics last night) good stories all around from all the competitors.

I don't know why Julie Andrews stuck in my head.

I tried watching beach volleyball but I don't find it as exciting as indoor volleyball. Yes, I know the girls have been better looking in beach.

Synchronized diving was interesting but another sort of strange sport much like synchronized swimming.

Tivo has recorded all the coverage I've been watching. But it's been cutting off programs before they are over. I guess the only solution is to season pass the entire olympics and FF the stuff I have no interest in.

You're probably thinking of Julie Andrews because she played the part on the stage.

And you need to do a lot of padding with your recordings. Many times they go long, not really your Tivo's fault.

Right on both counts. I seasoned passed it so hopefully that will take care of it. Else I will pad it.

Personally, I can't get enough volleyball, in- or outdoors. That, and Misty May's ass. It just has me mesmerized nightly.

Race-Walking at 3AM? How could they put this comedy ratings gold on at such a late hour? It's the most entertaining event so far.

I was just flipping around to see what sports are on. NBC had a rerun of primetime, CNBC boxing, USA race-walking and Oxygen had two chicks showing off dildos, electric va-jay-jays and other sex toys. After 15 minutes I determined, much to my disappointment, that it was unrelated to the Olympics.

Haha! I loved trampoline. I also can't believe that's a sport, nevermind, an Olympic competition.

Badminton was pretty badass too. So fast-paced since it is not allowed a bounce like tennis. I never knew it was so competitive either.

Enough of the damn swimming and Michael Phelps. Soon enough, NBC will tell us how much his shit weighs after all those calories he takes in. I want to see some race walking too.

Womens 20 K Walk - will be shown on CNBC - early Thursday morning
from 12:00 am ET to 2:00 am ET. Only event CNBC will be showing so
you get 2 hours of speed walking!

Mens 50 K Walk - will be shown on USA - early Friday morning starting at
2:00 am ET. Probably will be the first event shown on USAs 10 straight
hours of coverage that day.

Are the black athletes the frontrunners in racewalking too?
