Agreed. The writers seem to be VERY glad to be back at work on this episode and it shows they had saved some of their best material during the strike and were not about to let it go to waste.

Why? People have survived similar events in real life, and sometimes with barely a scratch.

Squib placement on the red shirts could have been better.. they all got shot dead center in the chest? Lame.

Also, I think Ben delayed meeting up with Locke & co. for a reason; Alex doesn't seem to be done just yet. Doesn't the asian guy from the freighter talk to dead spirits or something? Wouldn't he have an interest in Ben's "dead" daughter?

Spoiler:
In the preview, wasn't that the main mercenary I saw? I wonder how he escaped the smoke monster.

I wonder if there's a connection to Candle/Wickmund/Halliwax missing an arm.

I got this vibe too. Did you notice that Ben was dressed all in black, and Widmore was dressed all in white?

I would assume the skeet shooting on the freighter prepared them for that..

I really didn't think he would shoot Alex so I was caught off guard by that.
Great episode.

That's exactly how the Emperor got Anakin to work for him

It is canon as stated by the shows producers.

The clue here, as previously mentioned, is the coat. The Dr. uses a different name in each of the orientatian films but Ben is wearing a coat with that uses the Doctor's 'Orchid' name and logo.

We'll probably see the station soon enough.

Finally got a chance to watch this.

I thought it was hilarious when all the main cast members were like "Run for cover!" and then there were all these other people randomly walking around in the background and no one was bothering to tell them what was going on. Then they got shot and no one cared.

I also liked it when Claire said "I'll live" and the Asian guy said something "Don't bet on it." Nice bit of foreshadowing there.

Fortunately, hyperbolic cancer carries as much weight as your hyperbolic praise.

I found the interview where they state what is canon. I was fuzzy on what they said originally. Mostly because they had contradicted each other in the same interview. But you are proabaly right about it being canon. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

So what's official and what's not? What's ''canon?''

CUSE: The mobisodes are in canon. The Orchid video is in canon. The videogame is not in canon. It's unfair for the audience to go to ancillary sources in order to really understand the show. Even the things like the mobisodes, which are in canon, aren't essential to your understanding of the show. These things are just added bonuses.

LINDELOF: The only true canon is the show itself.

I just now noticed the quick subliminal message in it, "God loves you and He loved Jacob"

Wonder what that means.

Not sure but it was one of the messages that flashed on screen in the brainwash scene with Carl.

Yeah, I mean Jesus H. Christ, they're practically twins.

Alex is a definite hottie and I for one hope she's not gone for good.
