Compared to Robbie's version... Giggles sucked 'Carly' tonight.

Oh wait... that doesn't sound right.

Thanks das.

Jason Castro was tolerable.

Brooke is losing confidence.

Didn't really care for anyone tonight. At least DWTS was good.

I think Michael Johns will leave this week so KLC should survive being in the bottom 3 yet again along with Syesha.

Cook was terrible. I think Syesha will go home with Carly being right there with her.

Castro seems to have learned like Cook that it's best to do covers of good covers of good songs, but I still prefer the Blanks' version:

Jason Castro is looking more and more like Jar Jar Binks every week to me. I am so fucking tired of the type of song he sings week in and week out, too.

Brooke seems like she is having a nervous breakdown.

I think the bottom three are: Syesha, Carly and MJ.

Syesha or Carly are going home, probably Syesha.

Michael Johns - "Dream On" It was all right, but felt more karoake than sincere, plus, just too much screaming at the end, he should have picked a better song.

Syesha Mercado - "I Believe" I believe her performance was over-produced and the sounds collide with disharmony and made for a bland performance.

Jason Castro - "Over the Rainbow" After listening to Jason blowing the falsetto bit in the opening stanza of the song, no lie, my mind wondered how my 401K was doing. I really didn't think much of his vocally weak rendition of this song.

Kristy Lee Cook - "Anyway" Vocally, it was fine, she got off a nice long note without the Carly-screaming factor. She stills needs to work on her habit of closing her eyes when she sings because it's off-putting at times.

David Cook - "Innocent" Maybe it was me, but it sounded like his mic was mixed really poorly because I wasn't hearing some of the words he was singing, and his performance was stilted in spots.

Carly Smithson - "Show Must Go On" The mic mix was off, though the power screams were again icky sounding, and the performance was kind of bumpy given her attitude she brought to the song.

David Archuleta - "Angels" He is back on track, the start was a bit boring, but the finish was pretty strong.

Brooke White - "You've Got a Friend" I thought it was tortorous, Brooke was over-singing, over-emoting, just plain over-did most of it.

-------------

Rankings

Enjoyable
David Archuleta

Solid but could have been better
Michael Johns
Kristy Lee Cook
Syesha Mercado

Under-performed
David Cook
Brooke White

Once was enough
Carly Smithson
Jason Castro

I think or Jason or Carly is going home.

I think it's amazing that anyone thinks Syesha did a better job on I Believe than Fantasia.

Performance of the night goes to Paula's boobs Take note Syesha, Carly, KLC. If you make it past this week, that's how you'll go even further

-I give points to M Johns for picking a rocking song, karoake or not. Going first, doing a rock song in a rock style, and getting slammed by the judges may spell trouble for him. And comments like Randy's really annoy me. Apart from coming back to the hypocritical "it's a singing competition" crap, I really hate it when they try to pidgeon-hole a singer. i.e. Michael Johns is a blues-rocker dawg, god forbid if he does something that doesn't fit in their narrow perception of him.

-Well, Syesha's running with the diva thing. Alright, but I do agree that she's not really making much of an original impression.

-I'm with Patman on Jason C ... didn't sound so hot vocally. It did fit his stoner persona perfectly (love the run on "high ... high ... high").

-We'll see how strong KLC's country voting bloc is this week. She's been at the bottom so often, you have to think she's perpetually in trouble.

-David Cook was off this week. Didn't pick a good singer's song - kind of an awkward song structure. And his serious rock star pose with the slow reveal of "Give Back" on his hand made me want to hurl. Who would've thought that David Archeluta wouldn't be the most obnoxiously "inspirational" David on tonight's show.

-Queen covers, like Stevie Wonder, rarely seem to be a good idea outside of when the theme forces it. Vocally, Carly was all over the place.

-David A: yeah, it's so tough for him to pick an inspirational song Nowhere near as stomach-churning as I feared. He's my pick in the pool to win the whole thing so ... let's go Lizard Boy

-Same old same old from Brooke. She seemed on the verge of breaking down in tears during that song. It hurt the vocals, but will get enough "sensitive" points to pass through another week.

This is a tough week to call. KLC has been at the bottom so often, but she got pimped tonight and is the sole country singer left. Michael and Carly could both be in trouble. But my pick is Syesha. She's been in the bottom group before. She's coming across as a weaker-imitation diva, and I think people will forget about her. Though any of those 4 wouldn't shock me.

In the Meatloaf commercial with Tiffany for the AT&T go-phone, was the boy somebody I was supposed to recognize?

the original, while wasn't a huge hit in the US, charted higher than Jessica's butchering:

I've thought Brooke is not emotionally stable way back from the beginning. She takes EVERYTHING way too seriously.

Bottom Three: KLC, Syesha, and Castro. KLC goes home.

This show has really fallen for me, I can't believe Dancing With The Stars has eclipsed this as the better watch. They don't take themselves too seriously, have good musical acts, some great smoking dancers in skimpy outfits, and seem to be getting better celebs moving up to B List, which is way up from the D-list where they started.

They'll have Harrison Ford on there before you know it.

As for Idol. I only enjoyed Johns performance. The only really decent recognizable version of a song I know. Although Brooke was tolerable, she is really becoming a one note tune.

Can we vote off Castro soon please?

I think that Brooke ending up in the final 3 last week sent her over the edge.

People who think Castro will get voted off (or even be in the bottom 3) are nuts. He got a standing ovation and universal praise from the judges. Come on!

I laughed when Randy once again called this a search for "undiscovered" talent. Yeah, because have a record released for a major label qualifies you as "undiscovered".

Cook's performance was just weird. He started the song singing low, and realized quickly that it sucked. So he drastically changed registers and proceeded to scream the whole song. Then that dumb call out at the end on his hand, worse pandering than KLC.

No one really got me this week, except for Castro, he did a nice job.

I LOVED Castro's performance.

Hated Michael Johns and he is one of my favorites.

Usually like David Cook but thought it was by far his worst performance ever.

Love Brooke but didnt love it tonight. Pretty boring.

I hate Fantasia so I thought Syeshas version was better. I would have thought Randys version was better if he would have sang it.

Cant wait until KLC is gone. She looks great from 10' away. Not as good up close.

David A bothers me. The first part of the song was okay but he was great in the second half.

Carley seems to be so desperate she is just reaching every week to try and stand out but she really stunk it up tonight.

Overall there are a few people this year who's albums I would buy...Jason, David C, Brooke, and Michael Johns. Rarely do I like that many contestants.

Definitely Cook's worst performance and he knew it too. However, he sang the song like it's actually sung. There was no drastic changes that aren't in the actual song.

He gave off a very Bono vibe this week, especially with the hand thing. That's not a good thing for me.
