I too agree that Arrested Development should have gotten this treatment - I guess I'm jealous

I'm interested in how this setup works. These shows (Jericho and Friday Night Lights) already got poor ratings. With them showing on an exclusive provider first, then the broadcast network, the ratings will be even worse. I understand the cost of the show is being subsidized by these providers, but the broadcasters aren't going to be able to charge squat for advertising time.

I wonder the same thing bralph. I'd be curious to know the economics (including if there is profit for the network) behind this setup.

Also, where would Comcast put this? I don't recall them having a channel for this kind of stuff (like DTV has with 101). Seemingly they could put the HD broadcast on MOJO, but where would they air the SD broadcast?

I'm guessing it would be an ON DEMAND option.

Forgot about that. Makes sense. So I wonder if they would charge a price for it or air it with commercials or both.

that would nice, as I get MOJO on cox. I also get Comcast sports HD. Cox and Comcast must play nice in NOVA.

If this does indeed go through (and provided my On Demand stops behaving like a schizofrenic child), then I will declare a truce in my years-long battle with the evil Comcast Empire.

I'd imagine that Comcast would stick it on On Demand and have a premiere elsewhere.

As for Cox and Comcast, I think most of the larger cable companies play well together. It's not as if they are realy in direct competition because they have their own markets and have common interests.

Has anyone heard anything else about this?

I finally watched the two seasons on Netflix Watch Now, and ended up really enjoying it. The first 1/2 - 2/3 of the first season kind of drug on, but the rest, especially the second season, was good. If the whole run would have been like the second season, this show may not be in the predicament it's in now.

Edit: I apologize for misleading anyone by bringing this thread back up. I don't watch much live tv, what with not having cable and all, and reading through old threads found this one. I guess let the thread fade into antiquity...

This would have been retarded anyway. Why not bring back a good show like Arrested Development or Journeyman?

All three should be brought back. Jericho, Arrested Development AND Journeyman.

(Though rumors are pretty strong about an AD movie, so we may get our wish with that.)

They finished filming season 2 about 1 year ago. Everyone from the show has moved on. It ain't coming back unless it has an entirely different cast/creative team working on it.

THAT sounds like a compromise. And unlike Hall and Oates, I CAN go for that...
