There are plenty of reality shows on DVD. Flavor of Love, Girls Next Door, I Love New York. I know, they're clogging up my girlfriend's Netflix queue all the freaking time.

Anyone used iOffer or other sites - Amazing Race DVDs
Has anyone ever bought those Amazing Race sets sold from people who burned them onto DVD (classictv4u & many on a site called iOffer that I had never heard of until today)?? Has anyone used these??
I haven't watched this show since Season 8 when my job took me on the road and I was unable to keep up. Now I want to start watching again and it looks like this is my only avenue to get them...................

They probably mean stuff that is more and or less a contest. Once you know the 'winner' why would you ever want to watch it again?

I rewatched a few of the Survivor seasons on OLN a few years back. It was fun to revisit it.

I rented the first season of Survivor because it promised unseen footage and nudity. Turned out what they were talking about was the fat guy's wang.

You can buy a few shows from australia. Hell's Kitchen 1-4, Kitchen Nightmares USA 1 & 2 (I just ordered season 2), Surreal Life 1-5 (6 is coming out soon). There are more, but I only really care about Hell's Kitchen/Kitchen Nightmares. Shock DVD in australia releases alot of "reality" shows from the US that are exclusive to AU.
You might try checking out whatever channel's store to see if they offer it direct from the network, sometimes they aren't released to retail stores.
I agree that the replay value probably keeps them from being released. Kenny vs. Spenny(1-5 on amazon.ca), Dirty Sanchez (purely for the shock value, they do some foul shit!) & My Life on the D-List (if they release 2-5 uncensored) all have great replay value. I think Hell's Kitchen is the only contest "reality" show I'd ever buy, but that's just because I think swearing is great & hilarous.
Rewatchability?

Anybody sell Last Comic Standing, which was/is my favorite of the reality series. Now that would have some good replay value -- if only for the standup routines.

Looks like I gotta make another order with DD!
Thanks for the heads-up Red Dog!
I would love to get all the Amazing Race seasons.

They stopped releasing Survivor seasons on DVD a long time ago. Less than a third of the seasons that have been played are available on DVD.

CBS/Paramount tried releasing seasons of Survivor and The Amazing Race that were popular with fans, however sales were poor. Again, reality TV/Competition shows just don't have much appeal on DVD since there is really no replay value.

I guess it depends on what you watch the shows for, my wife is more interested in the voting out shows of American Idol and So You Think You Can Dance than the the performance shows which I prefer. American Idol Rewind is a good example of how a nice season set could be made, with updated interviews and background material added.

Project Runway keeps coming out, and Top Chef is coming out this year. I can see more repeatability with the fashion and cooking.

Be honest about these kinds of shows, most really aren't entertaining so much as they just rely on the "car wreck" factor. You'll slow down and take a look as you're driving by, but who turns the car around to look again?
LOL
I would not compare reality shows to Super Bowls
Super Bowls are timeless and have long lasting value.
Reality shows are disposable.

I'm really surprised companies aren't already doing more of this with reality shows. Everyone is quick to jump on the unrated film bandwagon but for some reason reality contestant nudity (or near nudity) still gets the TV-PG treatment on DVD.
