A hatch? No my friend, they are about 30 miles from the nearest hatch.

Oh come on now people the writers told us exactly what year Jin's flashback was - they even dropped it like 4 times for us..its the Year of the Dragon -

1904 * 1916 * 1928 * 1940 * 1952 * 1964 * 1976 * 1988 * 2000

So its got to be year 2000...does that jive with the Lost canon in terms of their marriage date?

bothanspy 03-13-08 10:12 PM

was the 1980 date on the tombstone Sun's birthday?

YES! When Sun opened the door and Hurley was standing there in a suit, I also thought (just for a second or two) that they'd indeed hooked up. I'm pretty sure we were meant to think that.

Not sure what Hurley's "Goooood" was about.

The shopkeeper said "WHEN it's the year of the dragon, it will bring the baby good luck". That doesn't mean that it presently IS the year of the dragon.

chanster 03-13-08 10:14 PM

is that what the said? Maybe I am wrong, I thought he said, it was the year of the dragon

Jimmy James 03-13-08 10:14 PM

The "good" bit might have been some indication that Hurley wasn't seeing eye to eye with at least one of the others at the time of the flash-forward.

cdollaz 03-13-08 10:17 PM

He said "When it's the year of the dragon"

SteelWill 03-13-08 10:19 PM

Which clearly given the context means it was the year of the dragon. Otherwise it's a pretty poor sales pitch.

IDrinkMolson 03-13-08 10:20 PM

The phone froze me, it looked so out of place, but they still got me.

Kind of weird that Radzinsky only left behind a blood stain in the hatch, and now Desmond's new room has one too. Could this have something to do with Rousseau's crew dying off?

This show is so awesome.

That's funny about Jin not being one of the 6 after last week's thread. I'm not going out and intentionally reading spoilers. I'll read the episode info, and stuff ABC puts out, but I would have bet money that if Sun went, Jin would have too. I'm kind of hoping it's someone else besides Aaron. If Michael is going by a different name, I'm thinking he's not one of the 6.
And, I hope Juliet stays alive as long as possible.

cracksky 03-13-08 10:21 PM

So, why was Regina reading her book upside-down then later killed herself? Hopefully, we get a flashback to straighten that out.

No he did not say that

He said

"In the year of the dragon, it brings good luck" That tells me that it is the year of the dragon - since it would be bring good luck to Jin AT THAT TIME. BIG DIFFERENCE

I just watched it again, its the year of the dragon as I stated previously - 2000.

cdollaz 03-13-08 10:24 PM

The upside down book thing was weird. I guess she was just going through the motions, pretending to do normal things (reading), while contemplating suicide.

Matthew Ackerly 03-13-08 10:27 PM

Now the question is, who the hell is the last of the oceanic 6?

Gonna need a screencap, because I'm 99% certain that he said when.

Although, truth be told, whatever year Jin was in is not important, and it's easily determined from the year he married Sun.

chanster 03-13-08 10:29 PM

I just watched it 5 times..he says "In the year of the dragon"

Jimmy James 03-13-08 10:30 PM

Yeah, I think the girl who took the jump was clearly just mental and they had her do that so the slow five percent of the audience understood where they were going with it.

As far as Michael using a different name, I'm sure Kate probably tried that as well. If Michael is part of the 6, I'm sure they figured out who he really was using the same technique they used for her. Besides, he shouldn't have anything to hide from the square world's authorities -- he's just not using his real name now because that would be the dumbest way ever to be Ben's super secret ship spy. Once that situation resolves itself, he can be plain old Michael again.

Considering that the promos all said the last of the Oceanic Six would be revealed tonight, by lord, it's starting to look like, gulp, Aaron.

But you know, who knows. It could be Micheal too. Maybe Lantham was a passenger on the plane, and Michael assumed his identity.

But if he were I'm sure Mr. Widmore wouldn't put him on his freighter and allow him to be a possible wrench in his plans.

Jimmy James 03-13-08 10:37 PM

I think we have to get to the nature of the 6. It's going to be 6 people who I submit are on the flight manifest. Ben isn't there. The folks on the ship save for Michael aren't on the manifest. None of the Others still around and kicking are on the manifest. Rousseau isn't on the manifest. Aaron isn't on the manifest.

I submit that the authorities find these six either on the boat, on the island, or in a combination of the two, use responsible means like fingerprinting, DNA, and/or dental records to verify identities, and come up with six folks they believed dead from the manifest. The press bills these folks the Oceanic 6. I submit Aaron is probably given a distinct title like miracle baby. They're clearly deceiving at least a large part of the square world, so they don't even mention that Michael left at one point or that Ben/Rousseau/boat people/anybody on the scene at the rescue were on the island. They all become the rescuers so far as the square world is concerned.

All I have to back this up is my sense of what isn't completely lame and, once again, the idea that Michael's name is only changed because him using his real name isn't compatible with being Ben's spy on the boat. No more need for spy on the boat, and he's back to Michael.

Matthew Ackerly 03-13-08 10:39 PM

This season is the best yet. It amazes me the talent of this writing team and the consistency of the episodes and how great they are week to week.

The greatest show in the history of dramatic television.

Right. And all those times we heard Regina on the phone with Charlotte and Dan as clear as day with all her mental faculties intact was simply imaginary? Please.

I think we're witnessing the same thing that happened to Rousseau's crew. Eventually, they will all go mad and kill themselves or get sick and die. They have to move that freighter NOW.

cdollaz 03-13-08 10:42 PM

So what did Michael do with the real
