Took her a while to put her ring back on after having her baby...she and Hurley are staging it.

Nice job by Lost of manipulating its fans..with the fast foward/rewind with Sun/Jin.

And it's not outrageous in context. Imagine Widmore as Ahab, and the island is his white whale.

I think he just meant that we shouldn't buy the idea that Ben is the one that planted the fake crash with dead bodies. That is a pretty monumental task for Ben, given what has been going on the past 3 months of the story.

I still think we will find out that either Widmore or Paik is responsible. I'm starting to think Paik is connected with Hanso/Dharma, Widmore has been trying to take control of the island all along, and Ben is the one stuck between them.

Tru dat. I wish they'd bring Emmanuel Lewis back as well.

VHS? 03-14-08 12:48 AM

I thought it was posted already what the news clipping said in full.It was rumored to have been leaked by someone from "the inside" ?

The body of John Lantham of New York was found shortly after 4 a.m. in the 4300 block of Grand Avenue. Ted Worden, a doorman at the Tower Lofts complex, heard loud noises coming from the victim’s loft. Concerned for tenants’ safety, he entered the loft and found the body hanging from a beam in the living room. According to Jaime Ortiz, a police spokesman, the incident was deemed a suicide after medical tests. Latham (sic) is survived by one teenaged son. Memorial services will be held at the Hoffs-Drawlar Funeral Home tomorrow evening

I guess this all means that the actors that play the Oceanic 6 have their job security pat down, even if they DUI themselves or something.

Aegean2007 03-14-08 01:00 AM

Throughout the episode, I knew that something fishy was going on. Jin and Sun being in two different spots?

I actually figured out that it was a flashforward and flashback and that Jin was not there, but the spoiler before about both Sun and Jin being part of the Oceanic 6 + the scene where Jin enters the hospital wiped that from my head until "It's a boy."

Lost is good at those types of twists. You figure it out, but are dragged around until you believe it's something else, and then - bam, it's the first thing.

Bring on the flames....

Who gives a fuck about Zoe Bell, really. I am glad she is dead so I don't have to hear her damn name every week on here, everybody here on the edge of there seats waiting for her to arrive on screen. Who cares. You would think it's the 2nd coming of Christ or something the way people here on the Lost threads talk about her.

Other than that rant, I loved this episode. Lost rules all.

So did the tanker find Michael floating around? or Ben got him the job on it?
Where did they pick him up?
Why would he be there?

You may want to tune in next week...

Raul3 03-14-08 02:34 AM

Yeah, agree, that was a cheap shot from the writers.

And good to see Dave Chapelle back in TV.

Didn't the actor that plays Jin get a D.U.I.? Interesting...

redrum 03-14-08 04:09 AM

jin will still be in episodes though.

Eddie Kitsis and Adam Horowitz are probably the most tongue-in-cheek writers of the LOST crew and probably timed the episode like they did just for the in-joke. They were responsible for "Exposé" (as well as, probably, the addition of the little snippet of it into this episode) and the majority of the more humourous episodes (esp. Hurley and Charlie ones).

Who was the guy that stopped outside Sun's room during her labor? They made eye contact. Can someone do a screen grab, please.

Zee 03-14-08 05:49 AM

All I'm gonna say is that I wept like a little girl. They got me.

For a while there I was wondering if there was some conspiracy going on...the shifty eyes on the nurse who injected Sun with what could have been any kind of crazy drug, the mysterious man who ran over Jin's cell phone, the doctor not being the one Sun usually sees...I thought Ben or some Dharma folks were going to come snatch the baby for research. Clearly, I was thinking too hard.

Loved this episode.

What a whore.

No.

He was just some random dude walking by who sort of looked like Jin.

However, her reaction was a bit interesting, like she wouldn't be completely surprised if it WAS him (i.e., he's not really dead).

Well I was not right about that, sorry Chan. I guess I just inferred from the way he said it that it wasn't the YOTD, since most people would have said IT'S and not "in" the YOTD.

Spoiler:
Mr. Friendly approaches him in New York and Ben arranges for him to get on the freighter

That is the exact angle I was getting at. You're going to have rescue teams combing the Pacific. How does one get a giant plane with 100-300 dead bodies on it sunken anonymously? That is a monumental task, one so large it would be hard to not have leaks in the cover story. If that is the case, a task like this is much larger than Ben.

Did Faraday and crew actually see the wreckage? It could have been done a hell of a lot easier faking it with a fake CG film. Create a fake black box that was conveniently found a mile away and feed the press some line about being unable to get to the wreckage. It would only involve a few people and there would be a smaller chance of it getting out that it isn't real. I could see Ben being able to pull this off with Alpert's help.

Not sure which theory is the least plausible.

news clipping about funeral
.

Whoa. Where'd that come from? That definitely leads more credence to the Michael supporters.

As for Jin, I posted a couple threads back when it was proposed that Jin/Sun were the final two, no way all 40(?) remaining survivors would give up a seat on the helicopter for both of them. The pregnant lady yes, but that final seat was up for grabs.

Chooch 03-14-08 07:24 AM

Someone earlier asked how they could fool all the famililes of the dead passengers. It isn't like they would raise the plane or extract the dead bodies. Don't they usually have a leave them on the bottom of the ocean policy? (don't disturb the dead from their final resting place) That being said, I don't think there is a body in Jin's grave, whether he is dead on the island or not I am not sure.
