Interesting, Locke said he killed a chicken while we already know about the use of rabbits. Probably refers to Kate trying to con people to get at Miles.

How do you know he doesn't? The last thing you see is Jack walking towards Charlotte and Daniel extremely pissed off and then it cuts and that's the last we see of them.

Wait until next weeks episode to see what happens and then you can complain.

I wonder if the DA is in cahoots with the people on Ben's list? She seemed very concerned about Kate staying put.

That's what I thought as well. It was such an odd request that even Kate's lawyer thought wouldn't hold up that there had to be some other reason for throwing it in there. She seemed to back off her terms unbelievably quickly and with little trouble, and threw that little addendum in at the end once Kate was willing to sign anything to stay out of jail.

I wondered that same thing. In my experience, the prosecution begins then the defense gets to put on it's case in chief.

Knowing some prosecutors, it was simply something she could call a "win". 10 years probation and not leaving the state is a significant restraint of freedom. She was totally screwed by Kate's mom, and this was the best she could do.

But California is a HUGE state. She could hide pretty easily.

Nice to see that, even on a lost island, they get to watch one of my favorite movies, Xanadu.

As I said in my post, which I put spoiler tags on, in the credits it listed 2 year old boy, which was the older Aaron. He definitely looked older than 2 but I think they're going to stand by that age. I really thought it was obvious that it was going to be Aaron, but I was anxious to see how old he was. I don't see why Kate would care that much about him watching TV. If he's only 2, if he saw her on TV he would probably just say mommy. He wouldn't understand why she was there and what was being said about her.

Could you please clarify the "two year old boy" thing? Does the credits say Two Year Old Boy - Davey Lorban. Or is the actor who plays him two?

Better yet, the plane was found in the Indian Ocean while Jack testified that they crashed in the South Pacific.

Interesting. I had heard on the MysteriousUniverse.org Podcast just this week that Dick heard voices that saved his Son's life. Very Weird that "Lost" would feature a blip from him this week and maybe give us some insight into the mysterious Jakob and Locke.

From Wiki:

At one point, Dick claimed to be in a state of enthousiasmos with VALIS, where he was informed his infant son was in danger of perishing from an unnamed malady. Routine checkups on the child had shown no trouble or illness; however, Dick insisted that thorough tests be run to ensure his son's health. The doctor eventually complied, despite the fact that there were no apparent symptoms. During the examination doctors discovered an inguinal hernia, which would have killed the child if an operation was not quickly performed. His son survived thanks to the operation, which Dick attributed to the "intervention" of VALIS.

Another event was an episode of xenoglossia. Supposedly, Dick's wife transcribed the sounds she heard him speak, and discovered that he was speaking Koine Greek-the common Greek dialect during the Hellenistic years (3rd century BC-4th century AD) and direct "father" of today's modern Greek language- which he had never studied. As Dick was to later discover, Koine Greek was originally used to write the New Testament and the Septuagint. However, this was not the first time Dick had experienced xenoglossia. A decade earlier, Dick claimed he was able to think, speak, and read fluent Latin under the influence of Sandoz LSD-25."

Philosophical and cultural references
Theology and philosophy, especially metaphysical philosophy, play an important role in VALIS, presenting not just Dick's (and/or Horselover Fat's) own views on these subjects but also his interpretation of numerous religions and philosophies of the past. The most prominent religious references are to Valentinian Gnosticism, the Rose Cross Brotherhood, Zoroastrianism and Buddhism, as well as Biblical writings including the Book of Daniel and the New Testament epistles. Many ancient Greek philosophers are discussed, including several Pre-Socratics (Pythagoras, Xenophanes, Heraclitus, Empedocles and Parmenides) as well as Plato and Aristotle. More recent thinkers that are mentioned include the philosophers Pascal and Schopenhauer, the Christian mystic Jakob Böhme, the alchemist Paracelsus, the psychologist Carl Jung, and the author and psychologist Robert Anton Wilson. In Wilson's autobiography Cosmic Trigger (released nearly a decade before VALIS), Wilson describes similar musings concerning the 'Sirius Connection', contemplating the idea that alien entities are sending out waves of information that we can tune in on."

Right, I don't know that he won't do it soon. I do know that he hasn't done it yet. I would have already been pissed that I couldn't call through all that time on the regular line, and would have been pissed I hadn't heard from Sayid/Desmond yet. I'm not sure what Jack does/says in the next episode. All I know is that I would have gotten to the point of frustration of the frighter not answering sooner than he does.

I know folks on the island haven't pressed others very hard regarding what's going on and about things they don't understand, but it just struck me especially odd in this episode for some reason.

Right because the island is really easy to find isn't it?

that's the other thing that will yet have to be explained, I'm pretty sure that whatever remote island the plane crashed, CNN and all the rest of the worlds news crews would be all trying to get out there to check it ou.

Next episode is based around
Spoiler:
desmond. is it a flashforward? from the previews it looks like he interacts with faraday in the real world. desmond has short hair and is pushing daniel. so maybe he is one of the eight that jack said got off the island but not one of the oceanic six. it should be a great episode, dez' epidodes are the best in my opinion.

For those of you who like Lost/Gilligan comparisons, I thought this was an amusing video...

Why $3.2 million? Seems like an odd figure.

I was wondering this also. I think maybe that is the balance of one of Ben's bank accounts. When Ben asked about the number... seems like the reason dawned on him why after a second.

Always had a thing for ONJ. Well, still do, truth be told. I wondered if that specific movie was a clue to anything.

3.2 fits in with the "numbers" thing. 23, 32 blah blah; but I'm sure there is a more important reason

I was thinking, why wouldn't Miles just frigging confess as to why they are on the island so he wouldn't be tied up and have a grenade forced in his mouth. Why keep yourself in that situation if you know all locke wants is information.
