I completely forgot Grunberg was the pilot that was snatched from the cockpit in the pilot episode. Didn't even recognize him in the photo.

heimerSWT 02-08-08 09:55 AM

It would be interesting if the Old Guy Pilot watching the TV was also convinced they were mistaken about Greg Grunberg Pilot because he somehow recognized that it was in fact HIS decomposed body sitting in the seat. Of course, this would have to go along with the alternate timeline/dimension theory, and that's just crazy talk.

Not crazy talk. I actually thought that myself.

Just porting some info over from the WGA strike thread, but sources report that if the deal gets done this weekend as expected, we may be able to get 6 more episodes of LOST this season.

If we end up getting 14 eps, I don't think we'll be getting the missing two back, but hopefully we get a few extra two hour episodes here and there to make up for it.

What makes Fahey so sure the wedding ring wouldn't slip off the pilot with the body being submerged in water for so long and the body detiorating?

RichC2 02-08-08 10:23 AM

Rings don't slip off fat dudes, especially bloated with water ones.

Exactly.

firteen88 02-08-08 10:28 AM

I'll ask again. Why did Naomi have a picture of Desmond? How we she even know about him??

Look at the screen cap on page 5. For one thing, his fingers don't seem all that deteriorated yet. They still seem pretty thick. Amd most people, especially after a number of years, have great difficulty removing their rings (Fahey even emphasized that the pilot had been wearing the ring for a long time). And you can see in the screen cap, his left hand appears to be more or less horizontal, so unless the ring would somehow fall off sideways, I don't see a problem with thinking it should still be on the corpse's hand.

Maybe no one's answering because no one has the answer yet. -wink-

Nice to see Greg Grunberg back only in a photo. What was up with the mustache?

I thought that was a nice realistic touch. It was supposed to be a "file photo;" the most recent one of him that they had. Most people don't get their official photo taken every month, so the only one they had of him was from several years ago, when he just happened to have a mustache.

And not just any photo of him - the photo he took with Penny. Perhaps Naomi's group encountered Penny's group at some point and took them out.

That brings another question - if Penny was taking to someone and it wasn't anyone on a boat, then who was she talking to?

Good point :foot:

My wild theory:

Penny's father is the mastermind behind all of this. The sailboat that Desmond used maybe had a transponder similar to the ones shown in the episode. Naomi would know that they really reached the island if Desmond was there.

All of these comes up if we believe that Penny's father is Alvar Hanso, former leader of the Dharma intiative and is trying to find the island again. He is also trying to get vengeance on Ben Linus for killing all his employees and destroying his research.

Not crazy at all. Somebody I was watching it with last night said the same thing, when he said something to the extent of "I was supposed to fly 815."

I'd like to know why Frank was so far away from the helicopter if he landed it almost flawlessly as shown.

He probably just started walking away from it to find others. When we first see him, he's walking.

I had thought the first shot of him was just as he was coming to. Could be mistaken though.

and what was up with the cow? all this time our survivors had to make due with what they found (until the Dharma food), and there was a cow just wandering?

Wasn't the cow from Patchy's Place?

buzzdalf 02-08-08 11:49 AM

What about the gas masks and other things in that silver case. No one has mentioned those yet. Why did they have that stuff?
Does anyone have a screen cap of what all was in the case?
I Loved Locke's comment about a taller Walt as well :)

Yeah, I remember that cow being at Patchy's place as well.

2-hour finales or premieres for Seasons 5 and 6 :D

bunkaroo 02-08-08 11:52 AM

How about Locke stating he would have died if he still had a kidney where the bullet passed through? Thought that was funny...

whotony 02-08-08 11:56 AM

that's right I forgot about the cow.

First shot was him climbing up the side of a cliff, then passing out.. I thought.
