Only if they let Jason Bateman improvise like he did on the Grammys.

Did you see my post from earlier in the thread?

It will never happen. As "inexpensive" as anyone may think it'd be, the show was always in trouble financially because of the ensemble nature of it.

I love the show, but why soil what I consider a flawless run with a movie? Mitch? Write something new and interesting already!

I'd like that. If he wants to do it with the cast of AD, do it in the vein of Fierce Creatures. Same cast, different characters. Kind of a spiritual sequel.

Further confirmation that this is in the works from Alia Shawkat:

I got a call from Mitchell Hurwitz, the creator, and he said "so have you heard about this movie we're supposedly doing?" and I said yes. And he said he was in and it was great. And Jason [Bateman], when he was doing all the Juno press, he basically just talked up [Arrested Development] the movie. He got the publicity going before anything was real. So Mitch talked to Ron Howard, who said he would direct it, and he's down. So I think Mitch was like, "I guess I'll write it then," and that's what I think he's doing now. And yes, I'm involved. I think everyone is.

Why didn't Showtime pick up the show after Fox dumped it?

I believe it was because Mitch was not going to be involved anymore. He wanted to go onto new projects (Shame his version of The Thick Of It didn't get picked up) and Showtime said no.
