My theory on Jacob:
Spoiler:
He's the "monster." The "monster" is able to manifest itself as different people, and communicate with those whispering voices to people who can hear it. Manifesting as Jack's dad could be just one more trick of the monster as it manifested itself as so many other people before. As for the empty casket...leave it to the Lost creators to throw something in there to keep us totally off track, and I am sure whatever theories we have may be completely wrong when it's revealed what actually is going on, but that's my initial feeling: Jacob and the "smoke monster" are one and the same.

We don't know to what extent this was an actual, "alternative reality" type experience or simply a hallucination. The intervention of Ms. Hawking and her appearance on a photograph in the "real world" in a later episode seems to suggest the first option - this makes sense keeping in mind that the Dark Tower series is an inspiration for Lost, and Stephen Hawking has written plenty on the nature of the universe (or hypothetical multiverse).
I am certainly not claiming my idea is spot on. I know it isn't...the show always throw curve balls and remains one step ahead of the fans. However, I do think that what happened to Desmond was more than just a simple flashback. I do believe he had a chance to actually change his destiny to go to the island. It might have turned him into a drunken mess like Jack ends up, but he had a chance.

Yes. A recording saying, "You have reached Georgia Cavanaugh of Oceanic Airlines. For additional information on how you can receive a Golden Pass, please watch the premiere of Eli Stone tomorrow night on ABC. Thank you."

Then,
"Messages cannot be recorded at this time, please press 0 for an attendant." Press 0 and you get the "call cannot be completed at this time, please try your call again later."

I don't think they can be the same thing. The others have a giant electrical fence to keep the smoke monster out, but Jacob's cabin is easily accessible.

FYI, Ubisoft released a new trailer for their Lost title today. It's up on VGT.

The game was plotted by the show producers and will be released about halfway through this season.

So, with Charlie able to be seen by that other mental patient, and Charlie saying both, "I am dead" and "I am here", are we to assume he is letting the world think he is dead but really he is living under a different identity?

Yeah, but two different crazy people seeing the same person doesn't usually happen.

There's something fishy with that.

If Hurley can see dead Charlie, than that means Walt is dead as well, yes?

Alright, did anyone else "hear" the radio spot advertising last night's episode for LOST. DVD Josh, since you state you re-watched I ssume you mean the television commercial then and I did not see that so I cannot comment to that. But on the radio spot myself and 2 co-workers all agreed that Ben emphasized the word "living" in his statement "They are going to kill every single LIVING person on this island". So my question is back out as to whether anyone else hear this as I found that quite interesting for sure.

I'm not sure. Miami is where Kate and Kevin (Nathan Fillion) lived, and where Juliet and her sister lived before she was recruited by Mittleos.

The rest...

Tustin, CA - Locke lived here, box company was here
Ames, IA - Kate
New York, NY - Michael/Walt

Doesn't mean a thing. Harold Perrineau (Michael) was also credited yet he didn't appear.

Last season when there would be entire episodes focussed entirely on Kate, Sawyer & Jack being held by the Others the entire cast would still be credited.

I loved the scene with Hurley and the so called attorney for Oceanic.

When he said, "are they still alive?", it totally sent shivers down my spine. Creepy stuff.

I really could not get into this episode as Jorge Garcia turned in one of the most excruciating performances I have ever seen on television. Truly terrible.

And, , at the "suspense" of him getting out of the car. It would take a blind person not to catch on that it was him from the get go of showing his fat hands.

My wife is yelling at me from the other room that i need to "ask faster"...
Unless my DVR has the exact same problem, I saw it too. It looked like a face to me.
