Leno rerunning OLD shows during strike

This week Jay is rerunning some old Tonight Shows. I thought it looked interesting.

Monday 11/26: Tom Hanks from 6/29/92
Hanks was promoting A League of Their Own. This was before he won any Oscars.

Tuesday 11/27: Julia Roberts and Pierce Brosnan from 12/16/93
Just three years out from Pretty Woman, Roberts was promoting The Pelican Brief.
Brosnan was still two years away from being Bond, and was promoting Mrs Doubtfire

Wed 11/28: Matt Damon from 1/26/00 promoting Mr Ripley and Selma Blair promoting Zoe Duncan Jack & Jane

Thursday 11/29: Jennifer Aniston (6/7/95) She just finished up the first season of Friends

Friday 11/30: Johnny Depp from 4/13/95, promoting Don Juan DeMarco

Cool. Wish Dave and Conan would do the same. I know Dave was showing some shows from last year.

That is very cool...especially interested in the Hanks episode. Isn't that from Jay's very first year??

The guests are going to be cool to watch but what I'm more excited for are the jokes from back in the day.

Glad to see that, I may actually watch. I've never understood why when these guys are on vacation, they air shows that are just a few weeks old.

The Tom Hanks show is just over a month into his tenure.

Nice. The topical jokes should be pretty damn funny.

And I thought the one with Britney Spears that they ran recently was old!

They aren't rerunning the Hugh Grant show?

Well, considering this strike will still be going strong for a while, there's plenty of time...

From the promo they ran during Sunday Night Football, these episodes are the first appearances of these actors on Leno's show.

How about running some Carson instead?

It'll be interesting to see Brandford as the bandleader instead of Kevin.

Why not run Leno's guest hosting gigs on Carson's show? Or does NBC not have the rights to any of them?

I like this idea. I would love to see old Jonny Carson shows as I never saw a single one (before my time).

I would love if Conan reran some of his painfully awkward early episodes with commentary.

Amen too that!

It's about time that they started re-airing actual old episodes while the host is on vacation/handing out donuts to WGA strikers. Whatever happened to the days of guest hosts? I guess that's a thing of the past.

Nevermind the the late night shows airing repeats because of the strike, just wait ti'll all the primetime shows run dry of new episodes. I can see it now... "stay tuned for a special re-airing of a classic Seinfeld episode!" on NBC.

I want Conan to rerun shows from his first season when he was uncomfortably awkward.

Even a guest host would need writers.

Last night was the first time I've watched an episode of Leno from beginning to end in years.

That Bush/Carter joke from last night, if you subbed in California wildfires, could have been told today
