if i remember correctly, as far as when Livia disappeared. Dan and Katie had been married 7 years. Jack and Katie split up about 9 years ago. Livia also disappeared about 7 years ago (he little snip at Dan not taking long to get over her or something, i think it was a matter of months. 8 maybe in the episode where she assisted the hook-up with katie) so droppin out a lil over 7 years ago would put her into and at the end of the 90's. i know it was mentioned about how long they had been dating (Dan and Livia) though that i dont recall

If we work backwards:
Dan and Katie have been married 7 years. Let's assume fall of 2000.
I believe Livia made her comment, and the answer was something like 7 months. That would mean she disappeared at the very end of 1999 or early 2000.
In the episode, I think she said she popped up in 88 or 89, meaning she was around for 11 or 12 years.
Also, I think she said she left in 1948, so does that mean she returned in 1960?

One thing that bothers me...
If Livia's entire trip into the future (up until the time of the plane crash) was to track Dan, then it seems weird to me that at least once (that I can remember) Dan has traveled back and met Livia BEFORE they originally met. It seems like if Dan was who she was tracking, the initial meeting would have been more instantaneous.
The mind boggles.

How come Livia's hair always looks contemporary to the "jump" time and not like a 1940's style? You'd think she would have to blend in when she's "home".
Great show, though, and I love the direction it's taking.

Anybody else catch that the car she had in 2000 was the car in the picture that Katie found. That means she stashed it somewhere in the area so she'd have future access to it - I assume after she went back from the plane crash.
In the pilot Dan's second jump lands him in 1990 and he meets Livia in Cafe Luna (btw, why would that Dr. want to meet him there of all places?!), where he says something to the effect of "Not yet.", when she asks, "Have we met?" That means she was around for 3-4 years before she even met Dan. I'm inclined to agree with Jericho that her reason for going to 1989 wasn't to save Dan, otherwise she would have met him much sooner than 3-4 years (although it could have been longer since we don't know when they actually met yet).
However...if das is right (from last week's thread), then perhaps her entire mission is to save Dan, which would be very interesting. Last week she put his marriage on track (maybe she was the one overall responsible for making him quite gambling?!), and how she has to save him from this FBI investigation. She did say to him this week "Good luck." when he said he wanted answers from whoever or whatever was doing this. Perhaps Dan has a larger role in all of this than anybody!
Also, it's been bugging me for a few weeks, but I can't shake the feeling that Dan's father may also be involved in this and/or lost in time like Livia was. However, if it then becomes a genetic thing ala Heroes I think it may lose some mystic.

These are all interesting points, but I have to say, regardless, this show seems to just get better and better. At the beginning of the season, so many were calling it a Quantum Leap rip-off or a Touched by an Angel series. I think it's moved far beyond either of those into its own. It's one of the few new shows I'm still watching.

I think whether or not the strike gets resolved after Thanksgiving, NBC will most likely pull the plug after episode 13.
