It's a bit easy to call behavior racist, sometimes it's just ignorance. Like Tim Kring said, the cast was diverse, but the writing staff wasn't. That may be ignorant but hasn't to be racially motivated. Leonard Roberts character in Heroes was pretty bland, that mide be due to the lack of black writers or because he's just not that good of an actor or a combination of both.
