But since Parkman's father was just the instrument, we were led to believe that Adam was calling the shots. If that is the case, how did he do that while being held for 30 years? Did he get weekend passes? Certainly Adam didn't just meet up with him and convince him to do the dirty work in a day.

I guess what is strange to me is that he should have been able to stop the Hatians powers himself, since he can learn other powers.

We've seen that there is a bit of a learning curve, though. The Haitian should be able to get the jump on Peter the first time at least. You do make a good point that now that he has seen the Haitian at work, he may have a serious jump on Sylar.

I'm guessing he didn't see that the guy had a gun. He whipped it out and shot fairly quickly.

The visual was crap, but it looked to me like the guy came up to DL face to face but rather quickly produced the gun from a pocket and shot him in the abdomen. Maybe DL just didn't see it coming.

It was definitely in the front. Nikki and DL were walking downstairs and he came from the bottom of the stairwell. It was just too fast for DL to turn his power on.

What I don't get is that the blood splatter comes from Niko's direction, not from DL.

I thought it was bullshit. The punch came quicker, and he held the gun at his chest for too long. He should have phased through it. Very lame to me, but I guess they wanted to have someone killed to make us less sure about the rest. I mean after you're hospitalized for one gun shot wound you would probably be on the lookout for other guns.

Which would happen if he shot from the back, I think. I'm no good with physics, but it seems to me that what the splatter would do if you are shot in the back.

I didn't go through every single post but my question is, how did Peter survive the explosion?

Apparently Claire's power is pretty potent. She did get burned right down to the bone by Ted last year, so it's not all that crazy.

The script said he did.

They showed the gun in DL's gut (Niko on the left, DL on the right), then it was fired, and you see the blood splatter hitting Niki's face on her right side coming from left-to-right, even though DL was on the right side of the frame getting shot.

we've never seen Ted harmed by one of his explosions.

Yeah, I always assumed the exploding power meant that the explosion emanated outward from the person causing it and essentially left them unharmed.

That's another good point. Between Claire's power and Ted's, Peter seems covered. We also know he survived the explosion in the alternate timeline where he has the scar.

So he obsorbed Clairs power and was indestructable?

Isn't that pretty apparent? We're talking Peter, not Ted, just in case "he" had made things confusing. Peter, to my knowledge, has the powers of (among others):

Claire
Hiro
Ted
Claude
Elle (but not at the time of the explosion)
Nathan
DL
Nikki

I'm not sure it has ever been established that he has absorbed or has the powers of:

Molly
Parkman
The Haitian
Sylar (though what would the point of that be?)
Eden
Candace
his mother
Bob
Adam (but how could you tell the difference between Adam's power and Claire's?)

sounds like DL was NOT the one that was shot.. We assume it was him

One thing to think about, if DL "phased" or whatever he does, the bullet would have passed through him and hit somebody else, so that may explain why he didnt do it as well.

I've actually been pretty curious about what Sylar's ability actually is. We know he sees how things "work" (as evident in his work with clocks and with being able to see how abilities work), but what about the way he takes the abilities? Is that exclusive to his ability, or could anybody do that, but only Sylar knows what he needs to do to get it to work?

Was Peter ever around either of them?

He was possibly around Candace if she was the one who dragged Sylar to safety.

As far as Eden goes, we never saw them together. That isn't to say their paths didn't cross. We know she was in New York for a period.

Is there only 3 episodes left in the season or 3 episodes left before hiatus (assuming that the writers strike is settled) ?
