Count me in. What a dopey kid.

Liked the episode, first time I've said that all season. No Blunder Twins and no Flyboy made this weeks episode much easier to watch. As for Elle's dad..
Spoiler:
Kensei is a series regular now, so I'd guess that once his Feudal Japan storyline is up, we'll see him in the present. That's right, either he can live forever, or Hiro dropped him off in 1980 to father Volt-ronica Mars.

Very very unimpressed with this episode, and very very disappointed with this season. Heroes is turning out to be a 1 season wonder. Kristen Bell, who cares, this show is overloaded with characters as it is, and boring ass characters at that. Sylar is about the only character that gives this show life.
And now NBC wants to add Kristen Bell to hopefully get all the VM fanboys to watch, pathetic. No wonder they were pushing KB so hard, nobody besides VM fanboys knows who the fuck she is. This show has zero direction. Ya the nightmare guy was mildly interesting, but the rest of the show was uneventful. Oh look, we have nothing left for the Peter character to do, hmmmmm lets see....lets have him paint something and have him go off to Canada, ya thats it, that will keep his character busy, until the season finale where all the heroes will come together for some kind of lousy showdown, beat the bad guy, and they start the process all over again.
This show has lost its "ahhhh" and "holy shit" factor and lost its nerve to do something ballsy and out of the ordinary, and to be different. They have fell into the boring old, serialized drama that Lost and all the other similar shows suffer from....not many of those shows left.

Well, looks like her character's going to take care of that. Bwa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Isn't this what every fan of Veronica Mars really wanted -- Kristen Bell to go around killing people and then tell her dad, "I don't see what the big deal is."

"Elle" is pretty lucky that dear old daddy made her go home because fighting Pete with her pathetic Force Lightning is like using a spoon against a tank. It seems like she may have already met him though, because didn't he use that lightning stuff when they found him in the container?

I don't exactly know what the deal with Matt's dad is, he's not the mystery killer. The mystery killer was short and thin, not short and fat.

Any chance that bitch Candice was related to Matt and his dad?

Josh-da-man 10-23-07 12:46 AM

Off-the-wall prediction here:

Hiro's going to die.

Either that, or he's going to stay in the past with the Japanese girl.

Why else are they devoting so much time to those scrolls? From a writing perspective, it doesn't make a lot of sense to devote so much story time to them, or even have them at all.

And if Hiro was coming back, shouldn't he have shown up by now? It's not like he's tied to any specific timeframe in his abilities. (Such as, if he jumps into the past and spends two weeks there, then he doesn't have to jump back to the future two weeks after his initial jump back.)

It would really be something if he ends up being killed by Kensei, and then we discover that Kensei is still alive in the present with nobody on-show having any idea what a shitheel he is.

You're missing 10 minutes, so the math is off. So throw it into commercials.

I really feel like going back an analyzing how "bad" last year was. Then I can go back through and say how much I hated everything for not getting enough answers. Seriously, I'm sick of all this complaining. I thought it was bad in the Lost thread last year, but this is beyond ridiculious! Yeah we're not moving as fast a cat in water, but come on - how many times have you watched Lost, Alias, etc. to be frustrated and then at the end go, "Oh my gosh. That' crazy - everything makes sense now!"? Stop watching an be done with it, but please don't come in here week after week and say the same thing over and over.

On a POSITIVE note:

-- I was happy with the KB storyline. Very cool how Peter's new girl is handling everything. Too bad for her brother. :(

-- I'm annoyed by Micha, but his cousin's storyline could end up interesting in the long run. Perhpas the guy who died last year is DL's father? Still curious what his power exactly was. Maybe it was telepathy, and he's not dead? Maybe Peter time travelled and became invisible?

-- Mohinder and Jessie - meh. Cool, I guess, that he showed up at the nieces house, but I saw that coming.

-- For a minute, I really felt like Greg Grumberg was out of his league and brining his scenes with Nathan down, but once he started interacting with his "dad" I was very please.

-- Cool power from "daddy" Parkman. Makes you wonder what Mollie is seeing while she is trapped.

Did anyone else notice:

Spoiler:
Parkmans normal power is reading minds, however to wake Nathan up he sent thoughts with his mind.

I was surprised it took this many posts for someone to say this. I was about to before I ran into yours. I really hope they flesh that out for us viewers. They've obviously had an encounter. Didn't she also imply that she/"they" put Peter in that container in the first place?

Yeah, I noticed this. But his father basically said just before that that his mind-reading power is just the start of all his telepathy. He'll obviously begin to communicate with people's minds the way he reads them AND, eventually, be able to project realities into people's minds like his dear old dad can do. Nice upgrade for Parkman.

That is what his father was talking about:

You start off reading minds... then you get the power to get into people's heads.

I guess - when you get in people's heads you can turn their fears against them.

I'll bet that we'll see an episode that will detail how Peter got into the crate and how he recovered after the big boom.

Also, I guess the guy with the messed up face is Nathan. If that DID happen to him, who fixed him up?

I love this show and it keeps me guessing and doesn't just tell us everything at once.

Well since some time has passed (few days?), I hope next time we see them they are already in the US. I'll be annoyed if they are still driving Rogue through Mexico! Get it...rogue...

Being a Montrealer, it was very cool to see Peter's painting. That corner (St. Laurent & St. Jacques) is in 'Old Montreal', the historic area of town. The basilica that he painted is Notre Dame, one of the most beautiful basilicas in the world IMHO. I really hope they got the ok to shoot inside the basilica -- it would look awesome in hi-def.

Of course, we don't know that father and son actually have the same power, this would be the first time in the show that there was a direct inheritance of the same ability from parent to child.

However, I agree it is most likely the case, unfortunately all we have to go on is what Parkman's old man told us and we don't know how much of what he said was truth and how much was ruse.

Is this it? I may have one of the front, but don't have access to it now. I'll check at home.

Anyway, as long as we're throwing every name out in the Elle Paternity Lottery, I'm betting on long-shot Charles Deveaux.

gameover2k2 10-23-07 10:23 AM

Wonder if they'll surprise us with Nathan end up having the ability to absorb other abilities ala Peter. Somehow, they'll tie him up with the flying boy past, thus explaining how nathan can fly and also heal himself after the explosion. That will be a nice set up for the future season to have the ultimate fight between brother Vs brother or something... also.. that will be a twist to screw with our head on guessing the relationship between Claire, Nathan (her dad) and the flying boy....

Yup -- that shot looks like it was taken from the rear of the basilica. The front towers (you can see one at the back of your pic) are unmistakable.

This is more along the lines of what Peter drew:

I was much more engaged with the save the world theme, than the save each other theme....but that said, I still enjoy this show, some parts more than others, minus the crying black tar chick and her brother. I'm still waiting to see it tie all together.

Are they ever going to explain what happened after Nathan and Peter flew away and blew up and Skylar slithered down the sewer...like they were all there, but no one has said a word about it.

Yeah, that's it! I definitely have a shot fron the steps across the street of the horses. I went up in June for the Formula 1 race. :)

Good point. I may feel more invested if I knew why all of the G1's were being sought out and killed. As it is, it's all random and there isn't really as much meaning behind it as, "Save the cheerleader, save the world." All I've heard is that sins of the past will come to haunt them. Sounds cool, but so far I think the execution is lacking.

Doesn't this mean she will have the ability to learn new powers by watching others use theirs? Could be a VERY powerful power then - at least easier than how Sylar acquires his - but maybe not as easy as Peter gets his.
