Spoiler:
That's what I thought going into the season seeing those spoilers. I'm not so sure now that I have seen the episodes play out. It would have made so much more sense for them to introduce Elle, blow that out of the water, and use the wedge that would drive between HRG and his family to explain Claire's distrust. Of course, it could be that Claire found out about Elle during the 4 months we skipped and we just don't know it yet.

It also explains why he might not approve her killing indiscriminately, but it doesn't really explain why it appears the Haitian may have hidden Peter only for Elle to be looking for him.

that will begin around midseason
. I just don't see them using everything they're developing to deal with the current storyline involving the paintings and capping with saving HRG's life.

There are
Spoiler:
two
more episodes in this chapter according to this link. There are also detailed descriptions of the next three episodes, so don't click if you don't want to see any spoilers.

I think he played on Family Ties as several different characters over the course of the series. He played an interior decorator, a guy at a funeral, a shoe salesman, and about a dozen other characters. I'm pretty sure it's him. His voice stands out.

ETA: The guy who runs the company is definitely Stephen Tobolowsky. I think the guy you're just itching to know about is the guy I mention above.

yup thats him, thanks. I thought he looked familiar bc he was in a bunch of sitcoms before.

Not much better this week. My thoughts:

Parkman and Nathan's story is okay and at this point the only thing worth following.
Hiro's venture in Japan has run its course.
Nikki's story is worthless.
Kristen Bell - she's cute and all, but we don't need more characters.
Monica & Micah's story is painful to watch.
Thank God there was no flying boy or wonder twins this week.

In that case, perhaps I'm wrong about what Generations is even about. I guess we'll see.

Groucho 10-22-07 10:21 PM

Other shows jump the shark. This one jumped the rope! Lamest super-power ever.

As for Veronica's dad? My guess:
Spoiler:
Claude

magiccmom 10-22-07 10:21 PM

Great episode for me tonight. Got back some WTF moments that have been missing for the last couple weeks.

That Irish girl is pretty funny looking. Not really digging her with Peter, hope she isnt around to long.

argh923 10-22-07 10:24 PM

Call me nuts, but I think Elle's dad is

Peter/Nathan Petrelli's father, still alive
I know it's an "out-there" theory...but we shall see.

Josh-da-man 10-22-07 10:32 PM

I figured that Elle's father was Company Bob.

She mentioned that she worked for a company, so it sounds like she's an agent for the same concern that Mo and Nikki are working for. (Of course, if it was him, why not show him? Hmm..)

LOL

when Peter goes to Canada I sure hope he runs into Alpha Flight

seriously this season thus far has been a major letdown
40 minutes fluff, 5 minutes content, 5 minutes commercials
if my math is off please more to fluff and commercials but not to content

JasonF 10-22-07 10:36 PM

 at everyone spoilerizing their wild guesses as to who Elle's dad is. Except for abrg, of course. I've got news, guys -- your random guesses as to future plot developments are only spoilers if you're friends with Tim Kring.

;)

Put me in the camp that thinks "Daddy" is Bob.

Jimmy James 10-22-07 10:37 PM

Elle's dad would need to be a white guy if we're to believe this is her actual biological father (which may not be a good assumption). That would tend to limit the possibilities to :

1) Parkman's dad, the nightmare man
2) Bob, the guy currently running the company
3) HRG, Claire's "dad"
4) Claude, the invisible man
5) Nathan Petrelli (on the theory that if he could have Claire, he could probaby have Elle -- she's probably not *all* that much older)
6) Father Petrelli, who is currently at least believed dead
7) The company guy played by Eric Roberts, seriously presumed dead after gunshot
8) Linderman, seriously presumed dead after DL took a big chunk out of his head
9) Kensei, I suppose

Am I missing any candidates we have met so far?

There are a couple white guys in the photo we haven't met, as I recall.

raven56706 10-22-07 10:50 PM

Elle's dad is the Hiro's dad.... but he is still alive

raven56706 10-22-07 10:50 PM

Am i the only one who wanted to smack Micah while he was acting happy for his cousin?

Phuzbox 10-22-07 10:51 PM

Elle's dad....

It's Admiral, thank you very much. :) I think this season has been great and I'm really enjoying 90% of the storylines...it's just that there are TOO MANY of them and we don't get to spend enough time with each thread per episode...I mean the hour goes by so fast and it feels like nothing is happening, but it's only because we're getting such a small slice of the giant pie each week... they need to do a few 2 hour specials or something.

dvd182 10-22-07 11:27 PM

I think more telling was that Elle's dad didn't seem to want her to kill anyone. I think that would rule out Bob, as he appears a little too shifty to be that innocent. HRG probably wouldn't mind the killing if it paid off in some way, but maybe he's turned over a new leaf?

Bob fits better as the father if you take the "generations" thing into account, as HRG doesn't appear to have a power. The dead/alive Petrelli father would also fit, but I don't think Peter needs any more female relatives.

Any chance Elle's father is Claire's real dad?

You mean Nathan? Sure, I imagine there is a chance.

mwbmis 10-22-07 11:43 PM

Best show of this season. It was nice to get a break from the tedious Claire storyline. I actually kind of liked the new hero discovering her powers; I never had a problem with Micah so I thought that was a fun sequence. I just wish they would get Hiro out of feudal Japan.

You know, I totally blanked that Nathan was Claire's real father for a second there. But yeah, that doesn't seem very probable unless Nathan is 100x more put together in some kind of separate, secret, clean-shaven life.
