As the clock ticks closer to 24's highly anticipated return, a special, extended "Day 7" trailer will have its worldwide premiere Thursday, Oct. 25 (1:00 PM ET/10:00 AM PT) at www.24trailer.com and in New York's Time Square on the iconic News Astrovision by Panasonic. The worldwide premiere will be seen concurrently around the globe at locations, via mobile and online in the U.K., Canada, South America, Europe and Asia. The countdown to the trailer's debut begins today at www.24trailer.com. The first promo for the new season is also scheduled to air during Game 2 of the World Series on Thursday, Oct. 25 (8:00 PM-CC ET/5:00 PM-CC PT) on FOX.

The innovative, addictive, Emmy Award-winning television series 24 resets the clock for "Day 7" with a special two-night premiere event beginning Sunday, Jan. 13 (8:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) and continuing in the series' regular time period Monday, Jan. 14 (9:00-10:00 PM ET/PT) on FOX. The season will unfold without repeats, airing all originals through the season finale in June.

Set in Washington, DC, "Day 7" opens with CTU dismantled and JACK BAUER (Kiefer Sutherland) on trial. Bauer's day takes an unexpected turn when former colleague TONY ALMEIDA (Carlos Bernard) returns. Meanwhile, President ALLISON TAYLOR (Cherry Jones) leads the country alongside White House Chief of Staff ETHAN KANIN (Bob Gunton) and First Gentleman HENRY TAYLOR (Colm Feore).

A national security crisis prompts an investigation by a team of FBI agents including Agent JANIS GOLD (Janeane Garofalo), Agent RENEE WALKER (Annie Wersching), Agent LARRY MOSS (Jeffrey Nordling), Agent SEAN HILLINGER (Rhys Coiro) and security specialist MICHAEL LATHAM (John Billingsley). Although CTU is no longer, CHLOE O'BRIAN (Mary Lynn Rajskub) and BILL BUCHANAN (James Morrison) are back for another momentous day of shocking events.

As part of News Corp.'s global commitment to fighting climate change, 24 has pledged significant and innovative changes to its production practices with the goal of saving energy and reducing carbon emissions.

Created by Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran, 24 is a production of Real Time Productions and Imagine Television in association with 20th Century Fox Television. Joel Surnow, Robert Cochran, Howard Gordon, Evan Katz, Jon Cassar, Manny Coto, David Fury, Kiefer Sutherland and Brian Grazer are the executive producers.

I'm sure they will be pimping Tony in the trailers big time just to get that :wtf: factor to get people tuned in.

I didn't realize they started shooting yet!

I suppose I should finish up the last season soon.

They've been shooting for just over a month, so I can't imagine they'd have too much footage to show. Maybe 3 or 4 episodes at best.

In the end though, it's just a trailer. As I recall, Season 6 had a great trailer and we all know how that turned out.

Season 6 also had a killer Sunday-Monday four episode premier.

Tony's return could've been one of the biggest shocks in the history of the show. Glad he'll be back, but the advanced notice sure sucks.

Which was spoiled by the leak of that stupid "Premiere DVD."

Actually I like the 2 hour premiere and a 1 hour follow up the next day for Season 7.

I still don't know what made those first four episodes that great. I was calling a bad season even during those episodes which everyone seemed to love so much.

First of all, I seriously doubt that could've been kept under wraps through January. Kinda like how the "shocking" first 15 minutes of Season 5 was leaked way in advance of the premiere.

Secondly, Fox and Real Time mentioned his return in the press release because they know they have a lot to atone for after last year's disaster. That's probably why they're even bringing him back in the first place. He did die after all.

Trial sounds good. CTU dismantled sounds good.

Bringing back a dead man though? Uh huh...

Bump....Don't forget folks, the trailer premieres online tomorrow morning or afternoon (for those of you in the east coast)

ET actually showed a few scenes last night from the season premiere.

Just read that 24 only has 8 episodes in the can right now. When the writers go on strike next week (as assumed) they will go into pre-production for 9 and 10.

Maybe they should change the title of this season to "10" -wink-

It would've made more sense, and have better shock value, if Tony had popped up in the final 30 seconds of season six instead of however many months later (and eight presidents later) for season seven.

Dang, I wish they weren't telling us about Tony. That would have been a nice surprise. :(

The 1st part looks like Die Hard 4. The 2nd part looks like Die Hard 2.

Cool to see Kurtwood Smith(aka Clarence Boddicker) as a Senator. That was a bit of casting news that never got reported.

And speaking of the cast, no sign of Janeane Garafalo which was a wise move. :) I almost didn't recognize Billy Walsh from Entourage. Dude was clean shaven with short hair. And Bill Buchanan looked a lot older.

I hate not being able to watch these with sound when I'm at work... I hope its still up when I get home.
