The Red-Head is Annie Wersching. She doesn't have a huge resume. I believe she's best known for a role on General Hospital.

So since the Tony thing has been completely spoiled, I might as well ask. Does anyone know HOW he's alive in the first place? (Don't tell me he was working with Peter Weller to fool Jack into faking his own death. Because that makes absolutely NO sense!)

Wow, this might be a very good season. That trailer kicked ass.

Maybe it does... if he was planning this! Honestly I don't really recall the circumstances of Tony's death... I can't wait for the DVD of season 6. I know most people would be appalled that I said that, but I have every other season, and while I was disappointed in last season, not nearly as much as most people.

About 1 hour to go before the U.S. version of the trailer is available. Can't be that much different except for Kiefer's On-Camera Intro.

BTW, looks like Jack's hair is it's longest since Season 1. I do like him being paired with Annie Wersching...

I think its bad enough that they brought him back to life.

Maybe Michelle and Edgar will return too.

I was waiting for Red to say something to the effect of putting his foot in Bauer's ass.

That looks ridiculous. I'm all for bringing Tony back, but there's going to be some stupid explanation for why he's not dead. They just shouldn't have "killed" him in the first place.

On the plus side, it looks like they've successfully reinvented the show. It feels like a totally different 24, based on that trailer. I'll probably give the 2 Sunday episodes of the premier a shot, but I don't see this taking priority over Heroes.

Anyone else get a Die Hard 2 vibe with the taking over air traffic control part?

Definitely.

I understand bringing Tony back though. He was a HUGE fan favorite. I think they realized killing him off was a big mistake. And he has motive to do what he's doing. The gov't pretty much ruined his life in every way.

Besides, it's not like they've brought back other characters from the dead. I'm willing to go with it for the sake of having their best supporting character return.

BTW if you're watching the countdown site, it looks pretty crazy there in NY. :P Interviewing Chloe now.

Looks interesting. One thing has me worried though: "Oh nos, the big super computer that controls everything in the world has been taken over by the bad guys". That plot device is a tired cliché and lazy writing.

It's stupid in the movies (including Die Hard 4) and will most likely be stupid on 24 too.

For those of you who missed it, here's the interview with Mary Lynn Rajskub (as I remember it):

Announcer: Hey welcome! This is so exciting.
Mary: This is so exciting.
Ann: What do you think?
Mary: I'm speechless.
Ann: What can you tell us about 24 that is exclusive?
Mary: Well, nothing really. The papers all said Tony is alive. I don't know if you watch the show, but that's a pretty big deal.
Ann: Oh my God! There's only 24 seconds until the world premiere of the trailer!
Mary: Yeah.
Ann: I know you have to go, but is there anything else you want to say?
Mary: It's so exciting. I'm speechless.
[The video starts among crowd cheers.]

[After the video:]
Ann: Wow! I want to watch it now!
Mary: I almost peed my pants.
Ann: Anything else you can tell us about the season?
Mary: I don't know much myself really. Not that I can share. (She leaves.)
Ann: Let's ask the crowd, Do you all have any questions?
Guy: What happened to President Palmer?
Ann: I don't know! We'll have to all watch season 7! Who wants to watch season 7?!
[End.]

And, yes, that's actually a pretty accurate transcription. Mary, of course, was being heavily sarcastic, which cracked me up.

The Live Feed on the 24 Trailer site was really choppy and pixelated.....I assume very heavy traffic. The trailer seemed mostly the same from the UK version, only a few small differences.

They have, but they weren't characters we'd met before. The first one that comes to mind was Victor Drazen in the first season.

If only the writers actually planned their story arcs a couple of seasons in advance, I would be less skeptical that this Tony thing wasn't completely ridiculous. I'm fairly certain no one planned on resurrecting him when they killed him off in season 5. (The fact that they kept him alive for several hours just to then take him out like a punk is another annoyance.)

They edited out a line that was in the UK trailer on YouTube. Right after the redheaded chick tells Jack to torture the scarred dude from Braveheart and Gladiator, he originally said "I'm gonna enjoy this".

What do you mean?

Jack Bauer had died and came back at least twice that I can recall.

I'd rather know what happened to President Logan.

Well, yes, but there wasn't ONE viewer who ever thought Jack was really dead. I'm talking about supporting characters.

Seriously, read my transcription above. It was about the lamest live deal I've ever seen. Lasted about 3 minutes, the video stuttered awfully, and while the audio was clear, it didn't amount to anything. But in that sense, it was kinda funny.

the only problem they have with bringing tony back is that you know for sure that he will not be killed again, they can't kill tony twice can they?
