I am not liking these hour long episodes. Hope this weeks is better than last weeks.

CPA-ESQ. 10-11-07 09:50 AM

Ahhhhhh another Hour long episode :(

pinata242 10-11-07 09:52 AM

Agreed. I have to take it in 2 different sittings as I'm really kind of annoyed by the time the episode break rolls around. Another benefit for me for these hour-longs to end is that that means Scrubs is back.

cdollaz 10-11-07 10:36 AM

We get to see Meridith's cast tonight.

 I wonder if Dwight vs the website will be like John Henry vs the steam hammer. If Dwight collapses at the end of the day I will be in stitches!

SFranke 10-11-07 12:40 PM

I think Ryan will attempt to replace Michael with Jim sometime this season.

Thats awsome! They sang a lot well 3 or 4 songs that I knew but didn't know the name of the band.

Ryan & Jim don't have a very close relationship and after getting shot down by Pam because of Jim it's pretty unlikely.

SFranke 10-11-07 07:19 PM

Ryan may not like Jim, but he hates Michael. Replacing Michael would allow Ryan revenge and would probably make the company more efficient, making him look good to corporate. Plus, David likes Jim. That fact makes selling David on such a switch easier for Ryan.

Best line this season.

Matt 10-11-07 09:05 PM

That was horrible.

I can't wait until they go back to normal episodes. These hour episodes are for the birds.

This is the first of the hour long episodes that really packed an hour's worth of punch, and it's no coincidence that it featured two good subjects -- Dwight versus the computer and the launch party. I can only hope next week's episode is as good.

dvd182 10-11-07 09:18 PM

I thought this really fell apart in the back half. Loved the first half, but the hostage thing got drug out way too long and the Andy/Angela thing wasn't that interesting.

Lee Harvey Oswald 10-11-07 09:23 PM

This is the first episode that I've seen. I thought it was pretty good. I really liked the pizza hostage scene. Great stuff.

whotony 10-11-07 09:33 PM

i love these hour longers.
would like to see Earl be an hour long too.

This episode was clearly split in half for syndication. Blaming this format for weak episodes seems pretty silly when the hour episodes are essentially back-to-back half-hour episodes.

MadMark 10-11-07 09:46 PM

I was enjoying it until Michael kidnapped the pizza guy

By the same token, the producers installing a break midway for syndication purposes does not excuse them for giving us weak sauce like they did the first two weeks of hourlong episodes.

I don't agree that this episode was strong throughout. I enjoyed the first half significantly more than the second half.

While I disagree with you, it seems to me you are essentially supporting the premise I'm getting at based on your opinion of the content.

I really don't care if they show us a half hour or two hours at a time. I think two of the 3 episodes so far have been weak. That's what matters, not the format. I think that was your point, so it works nicely with mine as luck would have it.

Palaver 10-11-07 10:03 PM

I thought it was a pretty solid episode. I especially liked Andy's serenade and the cast signing.

Groucho 10-11-07 10:19 PM

This week's episode drove into the lake when Michael took the pizza kid hostage.

musick 10-11-07 10:21 PM

I really thought the hour long format wouldn't work on a regular basis....
I was wrong
3 for 3 so far this season

glad to have the old office I know and love back

GoldenJCJ 10-11-07 10:35 PM

So was Dwight growing a beard to be more like Ryan or was he growing a bread because he was "depressed" over his breakup.

And did I miss something or weren't Dwight and Andy mortal enemies?

My Toshiba DVD player has the triangles screensaver and I do the same thing...watch for it to directly hit the corner.

cerial442 10-11-07 10:43 PM

It was an OK episode, but dragged on a little too much.
