Entertainment Weekly is reporting the strike is still on. The WGA President sent an e-mail to have it's members picket tomorrow.

Looks like those last minute talks ended when the East Coast went on strike while the talks were still happening on the West Coast.
Too bad for this TV season. I thought it was one of the stronger ones in recent memory. Arrggh...

I can see it now:
Pushing Daisies: The Incomplete 1st season DVD.
This is going to really suck. I guess the 2007-08 TV season is officially washed out.

This is going to be a messy end to the season, as well as possibly being a mess going into next year's movies, depending on how long the strike lasts.
I wonder what's going to happen immediately to Stewart/Colbert and Leno/Letterman.

I do wish however, this could somehow effect the WWE writers.

Also, it's been reported that the other unions may not cross the picket lines, so that the filming of the existing scripts may grind to a halt and the tv season could end even earlier.

It’s not like I don’t have nothing to watch; I buy DVDs every week and I have DVDs to catch up on but I’m very sad that the WGA Strike is actually happening.
I guess the last season of Scrubs has officially been fu*ked and gems like 30 Rock and the best new show of the season, Pushing Daisies, is down the hole. I watch so many shows in Primetime it’s not even funny but I’m saddened the most about those three shows. Anybody could write an episode of CSI: Miami; Caruso standing there for 41 minutes.
Thank goodness for Ferguson and his unscripted monologues.

Stewart Will Keep Striking 'Daily' Writers Afloat
Coming Soon !!

In a show of solidarity with his fellow scribes, the Daily Show host has told his writing staff that he will cover all their salaries for the next two weeks, according to a well-placed source. He has also vowed to do the same for writers on The Colbert Report.
In addition to another cycle of Dancing With the Stars, ABC is developing game show Duel, based on a French game-show format that has contestants bluff their way through a series of trivia questions. Also on ABC’s docket: Wanna Bet?, based on a German formula that has contestants betting whether they can perform stunts. CBS is working on an updated version of Password as well as Do You Trust Me?, in which strangers team up in a bid for cash, and the Mark Burnett-produced contest Jingles.
Even before the writers’ strike posed a threat to broadcasters, The CW was planning a reality-heavy spring with the addition of two new nonscripteds: Farmer Wants a Wife and Crowned: The Mother of All Pageants, as well as new cycles of America’s Next Top Model and Pussycat Dolls Present.
Over at Fox, there’s a new season of American Idol—which may be all that network needs. Just in case, there’s the new quiz show Nothing But The Truth, Donald Trump’s charm school contest Lady or a Tramp, and Smile! You’re Under Arrest, a comic take on Cops.
NBC, meanwhile, has the quiz show Amnesia, bluffing game The Interrogator and a remake of American Gladiators (*As long as they don't screw it up, I actually want to see this).
