I thought Chevy Chase during WU was the funniest part.
Did anyone else notice that a Smigel cartoon was announced during the opening credits, but it never showed up? Maybe the show ran long...

This wasn't awful. Decent opening, weekend update, and the douche sketch was also good. even the last sketch made me chuckle. monologue was awful tho, as usual.

It was probably cut because of that marathon Weekend Update.
That douchebag sketch was the kind of sketch SNL used to be so good at but only manages to come up with once a season, maybe.
Seth Rogen was virtually a non-entity as a host. I expected them to do more with him.
Armisen nailed that Waterson impersonation the 1st time he did it, and like just about everything on this show, they've run it into the ground.
Is there no hope?

From what we've seen of Rogen, his funny stuff in movies is generally when he's surrounded by his friends and is improvising a ton. This might have put him a little out his element.

Hopefully Jon Bon Jovi will do more than "Hey I'm a Rockstar" stuff next week.

I liked Chevy Chase on WU, it's the only time I laughed out loud. You know, I think this show needs a funny, talented black male actor. Seeing Keenan being a chunky, perfunctory version of everybody is a bit insulting. Too bad SNL can't seem to find someone like Keegan-Michael Key or Jordan Peele, but they probably aren't trying to hard...
Kristen Wiig is the only thing I'm watching it for. I can't believe that some of these folks are still here. If Darrell Hammond can't do an impression of Fred Thompson? I mean, really....

Compared to the season opener this show was a masterpiece. It looked like they really did try to correct some of the bad, bad mistakes they made the week before. For example, bringing on Chevy Chase to do his political commentary was ok, at least he has a mean streak that he directs toward the republicans. But these days Chevy looks like Darrel Hammond when he is impersonating Dick Cheney. Or is it just me who thinks that.
I did like "Really? with Seth and Amy" And it was a crowd pleaser.
The cold opening was not funny. The monolog was cookie cutter, but when they got to the douche bag competition I found myself laughing.
And, in spite of myself, I laughed every time Wiig said, "I said WE!"
I'm glad everyone loved the Muppets, but just having everyone dressed up as easily recognizable characters from our youth is not funny to me. It was like a high school skit or something.
And what was up with McGruber stuff? Take THAT MacGyver tv show from the 80's! Take THAT Solid Gold dancers! What will it be next week, a scathing parody of The Golden Girls?

I watched it up until Spoon preformed. The writing was horrible and Seth Rogans maonlogue was lack luster. This from the guy that helped write Super Bad?

The Douchebag contest was saved by Armisen and Poehler.
I guess I've been watching L&O so long that the Fred Thompson skit had me rolling.
And the Muppets were sorta saved at how Maya amazingly looked like Janice.
Everything else can go. WU went on way too long.

yeah, I agree, "Really?!" was great. Everything else, not so much. WU went on waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long. what was up with seth's delivery of the "war on science" punchline? Bizarre...
The douchebag skit was ok, but only because of poehler and armisen.
I'm sorry, people may love chevy chase, but his bit here was one the unfunniest pieces of television i have EVER seen. EVER.
I actually like MacGruber - Not the sketch itself, but the music/theme song leading up to it always cracks me up.

Speaking of Chevy, I know he's pushing 70, but he did not look healthy to me. His hands were shaking and his voice cracking. Chevy's not the greatest guy on earth, but I certainly hope that he's not doing poorly health-wise.

Pretty weak show. I was really hoping for a lot more laughs. I thought Rogen would own, but instead the entire thing was pretty tepid. Funniest bit was Gene Simmons on the Douchebag Awards. Chevy Chase was terrible. All of his jokes fell flat and he looked like shit. He should never be on tv again. WU was weak and the "Really?!?" segment gets REALLY old.

This was probably the first SNL I've watched in several years (aside from the "greatest hits" that tend to make it to YouTube), and now I know why. This show needs to go away. The only highlight was the "Really!?!" bit during Weekend Update. That was the only remotely funny part of the night.

I guess I'm the only one who wasn't at all thrilled to see Chevy doing a cameo. That man is just not funny to me.
