This is true... "Cruel Intentions" or "90210"... pick a side and stick to it ...

Although it seems like they are trying to set everything up, especially with character establishments to get to the funness that the books have.

Meh. This thing was dragging on endlessly, I kept checking the clock to see if it was going to be over soon.

Gossip Girl -- "Bad News Blair" 10/10/07

Spoiler:
Blair is estatic when her mother chooses her to be the face of her clothing line. However, her joy is short-lived when Serena once again moves into the spotlight. Meanwhile, Serena and Dan deal with being from two very different worlds. Elsewhere, Nate and Chuck head out on a boys' weekend out after Ivy Week.

I decided to start this thread a day early in light of the news that the CW has ordered the "back 9" giving GOSSIP GIRL a full-season order. While I think the show started out a little slow, each episode has continuously been better than the last.

I totally agree. The only thing wrong with it now is the totally gay-acting-but-letcherous-girl-bedding Chuck. I'd not at all be surprised if he just pounced on Nate during their "weekend getaway".

I haven't started watching this show yet(the episodes are sitting on my HD-DVR), but that's good news about the full season pickup.

So this show got better after the pilot? I only got about 20 minutes into the pilot before I couldn't take any more... it was too drab for me.

It's still about the same as the pilot IMO - not better, not much worse. This episode was alright, but it felt long too me and only the last 10 minutes were truly interesting - Dan just acts like a total douche all the time (until the end) and that bugs me, he's the biggest girl on the show!

I liked seeing B and S at the shoot having fun and at the end, but everything in between was just DULL and the poker game/ball stuff you could see from MILES away and just felt really stale. Meh.

My only problem with the show is Dan and the way they portray him and his family living in squalor living in a high rise loft on the river in Williamsburg...

Seemed pretty obvious that the poker game was a set-up from the start.

I can't think of many more characters that I would love to punch in the face more than Dan, he's such an idiot.

He's a little self-righteous to be the "relatable" center to the show.

I like Dan, I think he is a cutie. It's odd he is so cute on this show because I did not find him attrractive at all on his previous shows Bedford Diaries and Do Over.

The WB/CW must love him, they are turning him into their new Oliver Hudson.

Wow, was he in that show, too? I only watched a few episodes of The Mountain before I dropped it. In that case, he has had even more WB/CW shows than Oliver Hudson!

I like how the sister "disappears" from an episode and now it seems the next one will focus around her.

GOSSIP GIRL has a rather large cast for a freshman drama, so they're probably trying to establish which characters are worth hanging around and which they can drop. I wouldn't be surprised if the two side-kick's of Blair's get their own episodes rather soon to see what they are capable off.

And I totally agree with all the conversations about Dan, but I've liked him since "The Mountain".

With a little Nora Zehetner thrown in, for good measure.
