Screw you RHCP. You didn't come up with the name, and it isn't copyrighted, trademarked, etc AFAIK, so I can't see them getting anything out of this.

The show is stupid. They are going to lose. Apparantly they also have a character named Dani California, which is an RHCP song.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers suing this show over the name "Californication" is as stupid and self-absorbed as when Spike Lee sued Spike TV over the name "Spike" as if he invented the name and owned it.

And it is true that a character is named Dani on the show, but I don't think her last name was ever revealed on the show, so the claim that it's "California" is also probably a reach. (And without a last name, are the RHCP also claiming that they invented the name "Dani" too?)

I don't think they ever directly revealed the Dani character's name, but the SuicideGirls URL she gave the agent had the username "DaniCA" -- which i tweaked to right away as an allusion to Dani California. It could mean her name is "Danica" or it could mean she's "Dani from California," etc.

The RHCP suing over the name is stupid, and I've lost a lot of respect for them as people and businessmen. I never had much respect for them as musicians, but the relative quality of either the show or the asshatted litigators is irrelevant. I suspect this lawsuit will die a quick and quiet death.

But Hank is not exactly reliable for calling someone by actual name instead a nickname he likes (especially a nickname from pop culture).

12 episodes returning this fall. So, if it's like last year, around Aug or so.

Just tore through the first season set and loved it. Now that there are three shows I like on Showtime (Weeds, Californication and Penn & Teller), I may actually start subscribing.

I liked how these first season ended - perfect if it was self-contained and not renewed, but opens up some fun possibilities for a new season.

Plus tons of hot naked chicks never hurt.

Watching the first season. Awesome show. Love DD in anything.

I'm really digging Showtime. Weeds, Dexter, Californication, The Tudors. Haven't seen the other series or I'd probably have more to add to this list.

I just netflixed it myself a few weeks ago. Great show. Duchovny is excellent. It's going to be a long wait for a second season set though.

Just blind bought season1 based on my like of Duchovny and the promise of a show based around a sex-addict who will no doubt be shown bangin' hot up and coming actresses in varied and assorted debaucherous situations. Love Natasha McElhone as well .

I enjoyed it too. I litterally watched it in 2 nights, and usually i can only do about 3 episodes in a sitting. the 'squirting' scene had me litterally laughing out loud for about 5 minutes.

I don't know if it has been posted here or not, but the 16yr old jailbait in the show is really 25 in real life. Also the chick who plays Dani California is fully nude in the movie Bully, if anyone wants an excuse to check that movie out
