I can't believe Mia was dumb enough to try to pass off Hank's manuscript as her own.

Hank and Charlie need their own sitcom, totally hilarious 3-way with an inadvertent audience of 2.

I love this show.

This is one show that consistently cracks myself and my wife up. She especially loves it, which I find kinda odd since it is so raunchy.

And the Oscar goes to...Tom Kapinos!!!

I'll continue to tune in just to see what other person in the entertainment industry Kapinos will bash next. In the last two episodes, he has trashed Michael Bay (I liked "The Rock", "Armageddon", "The Island", and understand that "Transormers" is quite good) and Dan Fogelberg (guess he's never listened to early Fogelberg stuff such as the "Souvenirs" album).

Of course, those other entertainment figures could never come up with something to match the lasting 'quality' of "Californication"...not to mention that other luminious fare on Kapinos' resume, "Dawson's Creek" (evidently even fans lament the disastrous fifth season when Kapinos took over & changed the characters).

Still, gotta give Ol' Tom credit for cajones & a majorly-inflated ego.

And, just to inform Tom, Cheap Trick is not exactly "edgy" rock ("I Want You To Want Me", anyone?).

It's become my mission in life to rescue the brainwashed cult who has been enthralled through subliminal messages.

I'm hoping it will at least reach MST3000 levels of bad. So far it's just been insultingly bad...a notch or two below "Dude, Where's My Car". But even that stellar production had its fans, I guess.

And it keeps DD off the public welfare rolls, so the show does serve some purpose.

It's a lost cause, just leave. And I like how you enjoy Michael Bay who would be on a future episode of MST3k with Armageddeon and The Island.

Loved the latest episode. I think it would be pretty easy to prove Mia didn't write that. Hank uses a typewriter correct? They could just check it against his typeface, plus they'll have his agents word and you can compare the style to Hank's previous works, which someone already noted. Of course she still has dirt on ole Hanky boy.

creekdipper, your posts in this thread are considered thread-crapping which is against the rules of this forum. You were welcome to post your initial thoughts on the show, but continually coming in just to call it crappy is not necessary and just derails the conversation. Well, that's certainly one way to curtail specific, detailed criticism of a show.

Sigh.

I hope the Mia "novel" thing doesn't get dragged on for too long. Too many ways to discredit her. And with the way Hank's been written so far, I don't think he'd fall into blackmail-able category from her. He seems like the type of the guy that wouldn't care if she told the whole world about it...which he's already attempting to do with his new novella.

Loved the talk from Hank to Charlie about their women

Squirting! That was one hilarious 3way.

Hank is so screwed, and Mia is naive enough to think that her time in the sun will a long-lasting period. Her second book should be a real crash-n-burn exercise if it gets that far. I think Hank has to back up and just roll with the punches on the book that Mia is stealing from him, it's almost karmic in terms of payback for bedding her in the first place. Karen's restlessness over her daughter now staying at Hank's place was good to see because it highlights her love for her child, and unbalances her in some respects. Karen took comfort in being a full-time mom.

This episode wasn't as funny as previous ones, but it was still good. Maybe Mia will admit her lies because of Becca's speech about how much Hank's life sucks.

Just a reminder for those pointing out how Hank could prove it was his writing: Hank shagged a 16 year old. It's going to be pretty tough to stop her from opening her trap if he says anything. Although, as my wife pointed out, how would she ever prove her accusation at this point? Of course, a big part of his concern is probably more with those he loves knowing what he did. Imagine how that would make Becca feel...

season finale next week already.

i'm expecting a real melancholy ending to what has been a pretty entertaining freshman season. i really hope the wedding doesn't happen and that hank and his ex still stay separated. i enjoy the "let's get back together / let's not" banter from the two of them and i think they (the writers) could really make it interesting next season if the wedding doesn't happen. it'll definitely change up their relationship (for the better?) but still have that nagging conflict that'll drive the two characters forward story-wise.

i don't expect any character to really come out of this season unscathed - especially hank's daughter.

yeah, but the writer's have already set up Mia as "saving Hank" by showing the conversation with her and Becca. i expect she will have a change of heart next week about stealing Hank's book.

although the previews show
Spoiler:
a visibly intoxicated Mia interrupting the wedding to say something. i imagine this will be a very confessional speech that is made, but will somehow manage to have Hank come away virtually unscathed

Spoiler:

I find it interesting that the person whom speaks up at the wedding is Mia and not Hank. Quite the opposite of what we'd expect from him.

An entertaining season finale, highlighting Hank's personal growth in not hanging on too tight to Karen, letting her go and if it's meant to be, things come full circle. Becca also matured in her own way as well (hilariously awkward fight in the convenience store over this development), and missing out on it is probably what pushed Karen in on direction over the other choice.

Mia almost cooked Hank's goose at the wedding, but her concern for the impact of her words would have on Becca made her recant the truth of her one night with Hank. Of course, that didn't stop Mia from dropping another bomb on Hank at the reception.

Glad to see Rumkle and his wife back together.

very entertaining finale. not how i expected it to end, though.

it'll be interesting to see how they build off of the "runaway bride" ending - especially since she actually got married.

i'm still a little pissed that apparently hank is letting the book get published by Mia. i guess it's a small price to pay to bring his family back together.

I wonder if this ending was filmed before the series was greenlighted for a second season? It seems like they wrapped things up nicely.

Man I could watch a whole show based on Mrs. Rumkle. She is hilarious. I still remember that woman as the baby sister in Grease 2.

Tampons are a little tricky to use for a girl's first period. Why didn't she just buy pads? I guess a mom would have known that.

Mrs. Rumkle was also on that Louis CK show last year.

I also was not expecting that ending. I don't know if I was happy with it or not. Maybe I wasn't happy because she had a chance to call everything off just hours before that and still she went thru the ceremony.

And there's no guarantee that her and Hank will be together in next seasons opener. She might have gone back with ther new husband.

I kind of like it better because it's a little messier that way. It makes her a little less sympathetic, but a little less predictable and more like the series as a whole.

I didn't care for the ending at all. It seemed a bit like a cop-out to me, but it can easily be rectified in season two.

Mrs. Rumkle kind of gets on my nerves. The character is fine, but I don't like the actress who plays her at all. She annoyed me on the Louis C.K. show and she does the same here.
