They don't want to stray because the only publicity this show gets is when hosts leave/quit and they have to hire new ones. They need this constant turnover to survive.

I like Whoopi Goldberg, but I don't know how well she'll go over with, The Walter. I have no idea who Sharri Shepherds is.
I wish I could sit at a table for an hour (45 minutes w/o Cmrs.) & talk about stuff I have opinions on, that no one else cares about. Maybe if they let males on the show, I could get a position on the show & talk about DVDs & TV shows for an hour. Then if someone says, "Scrubs Sucks" I can go on a 40 hour (40 episodes) rant why it, "Doesn't Suck!".
No love for Bea Arthur?

They were over their loudmouth quotient with Rosie & Joy (or with Star & Joy before that), so Whoopi probably makes sense since she's a little more toned down. She's the resident kook, Joy is the loudmouth, Elizabeth is the conservative, and Barbara is the matron. I guess Shari will play the moderate of the group. Now all they need is an evil slut to get the full soap opera dynamic.

They should put Ann on there. I doubt any of the other women would go for it - probably not even Elizabeth - but it sure would be worth watching! Talk about fireworks. I bet there'd be war before taping even started.

I guess Montel Williams won't be a guest on the show then.
I've got nothing against Whoopi, I just can't stand her voice. I tried listening to her radio show in the morning but her voice bothered me so much I couldn't stay with it.
It must suck to have a face for radio yet not the voice for it.
I haven't a clue who Sheri Shepard is.

It's official! Whoopi was named new co-host today. No mention of Sherri or if they're adding the 5th later on.
They had just Babs, Joy and Elizabeth as hosts today and I have to say, having just the three of them was much easier to listen to.
Anyway... I'm not a huge fan of Whoopi's and I'm not in agreement with a lot of her politics.. but I think she mostly says what she has to say with way more class than Rosie does... and without the manic attitude.

Geez.... she really can't think she's worth 2mil, can she?
I think it comes down to this: Does The View need Sherri or does Sherri need The View? I'm thinking she should take whatever they're offering her and be thankful they want her.

For fear of getting my man card revoked I have to admit that I watch the View from time to time. I've seen Whoopi on there and even sitting in the Meredith/Rosie chair and I have to say that she's not bad. Not as good a show conductor and Meredith but no where near trying to have a solo show as Rosie. I'm not going to mind if it's just Whoopi, I can't stand when that other lady has been on there though.

Very interesting View today.
James Lipton said that he was a pimp in Paris years ago (although he said that there were some differences as compared as to what they are today), and George Carlin said that people that lose their houses to floods and fire deserve it because they are putting nature to the test. Then he said that he can't wait for the sea levels to rise, etc. Pretty harsh considering the fires in California now and Hurricane Katrina.

And Carlin has said that for years in his stand up act. He likes watching natural disasters on TV. Loves it actually.
