I don't think this is a big deal of a spoiler.
It'd be a spoiler if he was back on the island.
BUT
Since the series will now have a heavy focus on present day, with flashbacks to three years ago on the island, why wouldn't you think he'd be in the present day stuff?

I had almost suceeded in putting Lost in the back of my head.
I'm now reminded that we still have nearly a 6 month wait until next season. Guess its time to re-watch starting with season 1 again...

I never had a problem with Walt and I actually found their father/son story interesting. Michael was even fine until he was reduced to a blathering fool trekking across the island on his own. As long as they don't go there, I'm all for him coming back.
My initial thought was for the "flash-forwards" as well, but how sure are we that they got off the island? I seriously doubt Ben would let that happen. At the time he said he was a man of his word but since then we know he is full of shit. I think they are on the island somewhere trying to get back to camp.
Not to mention what could they have Michael doing in the "flash-forwards?" Going crazy trying to find the island to help with a rescue search? Nope. That is what future Jack is for, it would be too redundant. Plus he never really gave two shits about anyone other than himself and Walt. I don't see him caring enough to mount a rescue effort.

Two pages already and we haven't found him yet? Where is he? WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAALT WAAAAAAAAAAAAALT!?! WHere are you???? They took my boy!!! They took my son!!!! WAAAAAAAAAALT! THey took my boy!!!
Don't give a flying rat's ass about Michael (flying rat's ass, that would be wild to see). Don't like Michael. Walt is OK I guess, their flashbacks are uninteresting, even if Walt is important. I like Locke, Jack, Hurley, and Desmond's flashbacks the best.

You're mistaken; that was just Neil Patrick Harris.

They must have given him a damn_sweet deal. He really, really did not want to come back. I don't know if he had more movie roles lined up, or if he just got pissed at the production team.
I agree with those who say that Walt & Michael are probably only fit for flash-forwards at this point.

In the last few months from what I was reading, he was saying that he'd love to come back, but had to wait and see if his other show, "Demons", was picked up or not. It wasn't. Didn't sound like he was pissed at the show or anything.
