Sheesh. So is the last year for Vegas? Getting abysmal numbers for first run show.
|
Well, given its lead-in isn't helping them, NBC might give it another shot (maybe a 13 episode run). Remember, Friday viewership in general was going down even before the strike. It was a big win if a show could get above 10m viewers, lol.
Question is, will Friday Night Lights get a third season? A second run of House beat it by over 2m viewers and it lost over 3m from lead-in 1 vs. 100... |

Man. Those House numbers are huge. It's a damn shame there's only one episode after the Superbowl episode they are showing. My guess is it'll get a ridiculous bump on Tuesday.

I still haven't seen it yet, because it was still too late for me! ;) Chris |

Nice ratings for LOST. I think if the rest of the episodes are as good as the first, they should comfortably do 15-16m each week until the eps run out.

IIRC, American Idol might have some Thursday night episodes coming up against episodes 4, 5, and 6 of Lost (if Fox decides to air their boot-off shows in the 8 p.m. EST timeslot), which will syphon off some ratings from Lost.

I would have thought that a lot of viewers gave up on the show after the long hiatus. But I guess we bombarded them with so many ads they couldn't escape it. ;) Chris |

According to the American Idol website:
"The voting shows will air on FOX each week [...] and the results will be broadcast on FOX every Wednesday (for the first three weeks of voting, the results show will air on Thursday)." http://www.americanidol.com/faqs/ |

I think they split the guys and girls on Tuesday/Wednesday and do the results show on Thursday for those first three weeks. That explains it. I think they started doing that 2 years ago. Wow, I can't believe I forgot that. |

Looks like this may have been the most watched Superbowl of all time.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080204/...r_bowl_ratings NEW YORK - Very preliminary findings from 49 of the nation's biggest markets showed that ratings for this year's Super Bowl, with the New York Giants' thrilling win over the New England Patriots, were up 6 percent over last year's big game, according to Nielsen Media Research on Monday. ADVERTISEMENT Experts say those numbers indicate the game has a strong shot at being the most-watched Super Bowl of all time, and the second most-watched broadcast ever. The game, broadcast on Fox, had a 44.7 rating and 66 share, Nielsen said. That's up from the 42.0 rating and 63 share in metered markets last year. Nielsen did not immediately have an estimate of how many people watched the game. The metered market average this year was also missing Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Atlanta, Chicago, Houston and Dallas due to Nielsen delays. The most-watched telecast of all time was the 1983 finale of "M-A-S-H," seen by 106 million people. The most-watched Super Bowl ever was the 1996 game between Dallas and Pittsburgh, with 94.1 million people. Last year's game between Indianapolis and Chicago was seen by 93.2 million people, Nielsen said. Fox is owned by News Corp. The average price of an ad was $2.7 million for 30 seconds. Meanwhile, a separate survey from TiVo Inc., makers of digital video recorders, found that the E-Trade ad showing a baby talking about stock deals — and spitting up at the end — was the most-watched commercial during the game. Counting in people who played back material on their DVRs, the commercials were watched by more people than the game, TiVo said. |
