I know the Patriots-Chargers game wasn't in primetime, but does anyone have the numbers for that?
|
Fox must be salivating over the Patriot-Giants Super Bowl in 2 weeks in terms of ratings.
|
Don't have the number of viewers, but according to Yahoo Sports, the AFC Championship Game got a 27.4/48 HH Rating...

If the Patiots were 14-4, this Super Bowl would just be an "ehhh...I'll watch it" type Super Bowl...a "ho-hum" east coast Super Bowl. The only reason I am excited is because the Patiots are 18-0. If anyone's wondering, I'm in the Midwest. NOT a Packers fan, Bears fan. |

Plus, a professional NY team (in the 4 major sports) hasn't been in a championship game/series since the Yankees in 2003 so NY fans have waited a few years for a possible championship. With the fan bases in New England and NY and the Patriots' possible perfect, I wouldn't be surprised to see the Super Bowl surpass 60 million viewers. |

All I'm saying is that if the Patriots weren't 18-0, this would be a mediocre Super Bowl for everyone except the people in the Northeast markets. Edit: What I'm really trying to say is that if there was some way to see what the ratings would be for a Packers/Patriots Super Bowl vs. a Giants/Patriots Super Bowl, I would put my money on a Packers/Patriots Super Bowl. |

Also, I agree with Numes. While the Giants have the bonus of being in the largest media market, the Packers have a much larger national following and the Favre story would draw a lot of interest. |

Not surprised at all about the ratings drop with Terminator. Considering Prison Break gets over 7M viewers, I think it's hard for it to gain significantly more viewers and being that it's a serial drama. It's probably not going to gain many more viewers as the weeks progress. As long as it keeps doing well in the 18-49 demo, then I think it will finish it's run and possibly get a 2nd season.

That's pretty amazing that a House repeat still gets over 14M viewers. I guess alot of viewers missed the selection episode.
|
Well, it was a 50%+ drop from AI... It would've been around 20m viewers if it were a new episode. Also, it seems to me House usually repeats quite well (IIRC, it usually grew from a rerun of Bones a couple weeks ago) so having a lead-in like that would help.

Holy crap, huge numbers for Moment of Truth. i wonder how much that'll drop next week, though.
|
Don't buy into those BS numbers for Moment of Truth. Without Idol, that show would be easily under 10M viewers. I noticed that Idol cut off on my DVR at 9:01pm even though it hadn't finished yet, so I assume the extra padding was to help that show.
|
Here's the breakdown for "Moment of Truth":
8-8:30 -- Viewers: 25.09m, 10.9/26 8:30-9 -- Viewers: 21.38m, 9.5/23 So, people did stick around... Source for the ratings (trying to remember to do this more): http://pifeedback.com/eve/forums/a/t...451/m/73410789 |
Yeah, few shows have been able to retain that high of a percentage of the Idol lead-in. I think it will dwindle over the coming weeks as the novelty fades, but I think that sort of retention indicates the show clearly had a high level of buzz of its own.
