Official "Tru Calling" Thread

What happen with season 2 only 6 episodes?, I just got done watching season 1 on DVD and it was telling that season 2 was gonna have alot of bomb shells and everything and great stories? I don't think 6 episodes is gonna fit all of that!

I'm about to watch season 2 on DVD. I watched all of this when they were aired and I remember to myself 5 episodes was aired for season 2, and I wondered what happen and I have never found out why? I guess i'm here now to find out what happen?

Please someone help

Only five episodes aired, but there was a sixth, un-aired Christmas episode. It did its best to wrap as much up as possible, but it was still pretty open-ended.

They renewed the show for season 2, then seemed to change their mind--shortening the order to 13 episodes, then 6. Then they burned off 5 episodes as a replacement for Point Pleasant, then never aired the last ep.

There is your answer. And I agree, once Jason Priestly joined the show it got much more nefarious and interesting. Originally it was just Eliza Dushku "track star" running around town trying to save everyone. But by the end of season one, they really had a good thing going. Sucks but hey it was on FOX so what do you expect?

You will hate them more when you watch the season 2 DVDs. They set up a really cool story line, but we didn't get to see it much.

Is there a reason why they canceled it?

Yeah; 'cause it was getting good.

If it had stayed the repetitive brunette-version-of-Baywatch formula show it started out as, it would probably still be on the air today. Once the show started to develop and become more interesting and intelligent, Fox just had to cancel it. That's the only reason they needed.

Unless you get 7 million people to call in, you're not getting anything done. The show averaged a 1.9/5 which is less than 5 million viewers, anyway you spin it, that's 2 episodes get aired and the show gets axed territory, Fox gave the show much much more than that.

You could take aim at the CW though, they would probably be happy to pick up those kind of ratings.

Re: Tru Calling?

Just watched season one, had the unopened set on my shelf for a couple of years now. Loved season one. Started out a little slow but definitely picked up once they started t develop a past history and then when Prestly came on board. Didn't like that the sister completely disappeared and they never really knew what to do with Luc but those are minor things.

Still have season two on the shelf and I'll get around to watching that but I have some other shows I might finish off first.

Don't remind me of Tru Calling. The lameness of Dollhouse made me miss it all the more.

Re: Tru Calling?

I remember one of the writers posted a future storyline which would've been interesting to watch. The guy that Tru shouldn't had saved in S2 was suppose to go evil or something. But I agree that S2 was getting very good.

Re: Tru Calling?

This show annoyed the piss out of me. My wife loved it, but it was just terrible at the start. As so many others have said, it actually hit on something that really worked near the end of the first season. I had hope for it. Season two then rolls around and it becomes clear that the network loathed the far better premise they had found and killed the show out of spite (it wasn't the ratings). What a waste.
