Cupid (remake) Pilot -- 3/31
I hadn't realized this was starting tonight (and judging by the lack of threads, I'm guessing I'm not the only one). Luckily I figured it out in time.
I never watched the original version with Piven and Marshall, but I really enjoyed this version. It was incredibly obvious where they were going with the Dave plot as soon as they got to the karaoke scene, but I still enjoyed it.
Fans of the original, how does this version compare?

older was better.
I would have liked if the other guy was allowed to start topics on
tv shows, he did a great job with the formatting of the first post for them.
This show was a bore, i don't like the guy who is cupid.
let me know when he gets rid of the faux hawk.

Here is an interesting story about Rob Marshall (creator) and Rozenfeld (abc exec)

I liked it. It's not the best and I doubt it'll last but I think I'll stick with it 'til it gets cancelled.

I thought it was decent.
It was ten years ago, but I remember enjoying the original.

Isn't the definition of insanity repeating the same actions, expecting a different result? So then wouldn't ABC remaking a FAILED show be completely insane???
Are there really no more new ideas in Hollywood?

IIRC, the 13 episode order got cut down to 7. This is pretty much a goner. Enjoy it why it lasts I suppose.

All that I can say to ABC is...should have never canceled the original.
I couldn't give an accurate review to this one since all I kept thinking about while watching it was the original, which I really liked at the time.
Piven as Trevor and Paula Marshall as the dry psychologist worked very well together, and it was hard for me to get into these potrayals because of the old.
I think all the original episodes can be seen on youtube, along with one that never aired in the U.S.
Here's a link to get those started that want to compare the two.

Enjoyable enough to keep watching while it hangs in there, but nothing I'd really miss - at least, based on the one episode so far.

GU isn't that bad. Definitely not great though.
I didn't see the first series of Cupid, but I did enjoy this. It's odd that I like Bobby Cannavale, he seems like a good guy, etc, but I just don't like his acting. I'll keep watching this for now, until it is cancelled in a week or two.

Well thanks to the Lakers finishing the Magic off in 5 games, we got the last remaining episode of this show last night.
I have to say, the show was getting better. The last two episodes were very good, especially the finale.
Sure it was predictable, and more than a little sugary, but it had charm, and some very attractive women.

I stopped watching a while ago. I just couldn't buy into the whole thing. Too bad, because I'd always heard how great the original was.

The original WAS great and despite Rob Thomas, this remake is a train wreck. Gave up on it after the second episode.
Not only is the writing pedestrian compared to the original, Bobby Cannavale can't hold a candle to Jeremy Piven. And even though I like her a lot, Sarah Paulson is just too frail or demure or something I can't quite put my finger on. Paula Marshall nailed her character in the original.

Yep. She sure is. And she's still a babe at 44.
