The referee comment is clearly a joke. Much like when Jordan joked that his shoes had a white Nike swoosh because "The NBA needed some white in it." These could be called non politially-correct but jokes none-the-less.

Barkley does say some offensive things (players under 6ft are midgets) but I've never heard any racial hatred or bias from Charles.
