And...WOW. The effusive praise for this ep. is well deserved. Seriously, and without exagerration, "String Theory" is probably the best hour of TV I've ever seen. Every bit of it was pitch perfect, from Sylar's reveal, Peter's bad ass-ness, an ultra hot Claire, an ass-kicking future Hiro, a supporting character in Ando that doesn't grate, NO Micah, an evil Parkman...and I could go on.
Again, WOW.

This episode wasn't perfect, either - in the beginning serious Future Hiro was pretty hard to watch. His dialog and toughness seemed forced, but that went away as the episode progressed. Probably just a young actor not used to switching gears. Remember, this is the internet we're on and the rulebook clearly states someone, somewhere, somehow has to find something to bitch about.

Personally, I kinda like itunes as it does not have any ads to wait through.

Oh, and I thought that Hayden was even cuter with brown hair, which for most girls that are blonde or dye it, is not true.

Great episode. Finally got to see it. It failed to live up to the insane hype that built up for me through reading everyone's responses on this thread, but it was nevertheless a great episode and probably the best of the season. One thing - Ali Larter should never act again. Please, Tim Kring, kill that bitch off. Is anyone else as tired as me of the whole Jessica/Nikki thing?

I think the point here is that "save the cheerleader, save the world" is wrong, because Hiro is mistaken as to who caused the NYC explosion. Nathan made an even worse mistake blaming Sylar for the explosion, as the heroes stop looking for him since they think he's dead. It's easy to work in secret when your opponents think you're dead. Saving Claire needn't save Nathan or illusion-girl, both of which Sylar can easily kill in order to install himself as President. Sylar doesn't know about illusion-girl yet, so I'm betting that at some point he gets access to the Company database, which is far more useful to him since, unlike Mohinder's, it says what their powers are allowing him to go after the highest-value targets first.

Another thing: at this point do the heroes even know Sylar steals powers? They know he's killing specials, but I don't think they know why.

Wondering
Okay. We've all figured that Silar can't get a power when someone dies right? Like the girl with the powers of persuasion. But, I wondered about this. Right after Sylar hit Peter with the glass in the head. I'm guessing that pretty well killed Peter until Claire pulled it out and he became alive again. Anyhow, right after the glass went into Peter's head, Sylar looked like he was going to go over and take Peter's power. How could he do this though if Peter is dead? We know of course he didn't get to because the almighty chalk board of power knocked him out thanks to Mohinder. Anyhow, just wondering everyones thoughts on this. I hope it makes sense.

I'm paid less than $120 per hour, so $2 for a minute of my time is a bargain, esp when I can just mute the ad, go do something else, then backup the episode to it's start when I tab back to my browser window. Does that make me cheap, smart with my money, or in the wrong thread?

Yeah, I'm not sure I would describe the first season of Heroes as "perfect" with the terrible DL/Nikki/Jessica/Micah stuff. That really slowed down some of the early and midseason episodes. This week's episode was excellent, though. It really tied together the earlier episodes with the future stuff.

You realize that Nathan was killed by Sylar, and the Nathan we saw in the future was, in fact, Sylar?

I'm curious, why is everyone (including the thread title itself) calling this episode "String Theory?" I thought the title was "Five Years Gone."
