Twin Peaks. Should I watch it?

I know who the killer is. Is it still worth watching? I only seen one episode with a giant and midget in it.

Its unfortunate that you know before watching it, but I think it would still be very worthwhile to check it out. There is a lot more than the info you have and just the unconventional nature of series is great even 15 years later. However, its definitely a series that isn't for everyone. If you like David Lynch's films, I wouldn't hesitate to say its worth your time.

Wait until you can get the US version of the pilot, then yes, enjoy.

It gets shaggy-doggish by the end of the series but through the first year is terrific. After that, too many subplots and loose ends derail the momentum until it's much less entertaining.

It starts out great, but realize that for the most part they're making it up as they go along, so don't expect everything to be explained by the end.

Can someone please point me in the direction of a good recap for season 1 (video or text, either will work). Its been nearly 5 years since I've watched season 1, and I started season 2 today, realizing that I don't remember almost anything that is going on, except the larger arcs. Thanks!

Wikipedia probably has good episode recaps.

I suggest that anyone looking to make some cash sell their Season 1 copy on ebay!

...and I never even watched the show...so I have nothing to add.

I've been thinking that, but I don't want to take the chance that season 1 will never come out on DVD again.

I can practically garauntee that when it does, the extras will pale in comparison to the original release - well except for containing the pilot.

No DTS for one which is a big deal in my book!

I knew who the killer was before even watching the pilot. I kicked myself at first but then the subtly of knowing made the show even more interesting. I say yes watch the hell out of it it's great.

I would say it's worth watching, especially the 1st season. Every time I watch it, I'm completely engrossed in the world of Twin Peaks. The same can be said for the first part of the 2nd season as well. Unfortunately, I found a lot of the stuff after the killer's revelation to be kind of lackluster. If the rumors were correct then
Spoiler:
being forced to scrap the planned romance between Cooper and Audrey was a huge blow. For one thing, the I really, really enjoyed the scenes those two shared in the 1st season. They had virtually no interaction after the first post mystery episode, and I sorely missed that. It also would have made the stakes higher if Windom Earle had kidnapped Audrey and taken her to the Black Lodge as opposed to Annie, who wasn't around long enough for me to care much about.

This show is WELL worht watching! But the prices on Ebay for the first season are flat-out stupid. Reminds me of the furor for OOP Criterion discs.

I would say it is worth it. But no matter what, you have to tell people how great David Lynch is, and use words like "art" when you describe it.

You should see it because David Lynch is great and it's a serious work of art.

Wait until you can see the pilot episode in decent quality (I've heard the Mexican disc is OK, but I only have the HK-Republic one ... which is not)...

Then, watch the pilot episode thru episode 16 (about midway thru season tow). Then watch the film "Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me". Then, if you're up for some non-Laura Palmer stuff, watch the remaining episodes from season 2.

Wouldn't it be best to watch the movie after the series, and not just after episode 16? I mean the movie supposedly has alot of "inside stuff" that you won't get unless you've seen the whole of season two...

Yeah, don't watch Fire Walk With Me until you've seen the entire series. While it mostly focuses on Laura Palmer, the prequel also has references to post-Laura Palmer things like the Black Lodge, Annie Blackburn (there's a scene with Annie that spoils what happens in the final episode), etc.
