I really enjoyed this episode. But, I can see how the whole Lana-Clark thing gets on everyone's nerves. But, I thought it was really compelling story telling and it's making me really look forward to the day when or if Lana truly discovers who Lex really is. It was a Heartbreaking ending.
Also, I really like that they are bringing out a truly evil Lionel Luthor.

And here I thought that Lana's dumping Lex and going for Clark would be the spark that finally made Luthor and Superman enemies for life.
Oh well, I suppose it still not too late to kill off Lana and have Lex blame Clark for her death. But we'll have to save that for the series finale.

Actually, if you think about it Lana doesn't know Clark's real secret - alien, came from a doomed planet, think he caused her parents death, sacraficed his dad to save her.
That all really imparts a greater sense of meaning to the way things have gone I think.
I just wish I didn't always feel like I was watching KK deliver lines, vs watching Lana Lang's life.

Very good episode. Pretty heartbreaking stuff and frustrating too. I think Lana should have at least told Clark though what the deal was, but I guess she just didn't want to take the risk.
I'm not sure Lionel has gone bad or not. It's possible that he's trying to keep Lex from completely turning dark and is also trying to keep Clark on his path. Who knows. He may have been bluffing.

Lionel is probably not "bad" but he does have his agenda, and blackmailing Lana has cross-purposes for him because Lionel wants something out of Lex (probably harkens back his interest in the kryptonian technology), and a distraught Lex is worthless to him, so getting Lana to go through with the marriage buys Lionel time for Lex to get him what he needs out of Lex.

From: Rainy ass Seattle yes the weather sucks here, so do our sports teams.
Really liked this episode. And a Shelby appearance! Heartbreaking, and not in too much of a cheesy CW way, either.
Next week looks like crap though.

I figured he did it mostly to keep Lex from flying off the deep end.

I hate Lana, but at least something important happened plotwise. And they actually didn't cheat with the reset button at the end.
Not looking forward to next week with Kane though. I wonder if his power is to make fire appear out of nowhere by raising and lowering his arms.

Some solid development but it was a pretty boring episode on the whole. Lana finally knows something. But now we get to end the season with Clark and Lana pining after each other again.
Not quite the episode I was hoping for after the long break.
