I really can't think of the last time I was so excited for a new season of a show to start. And to make it worse I have to wait until the 1am airing. I don't remember what they are but I already have two shows being recorded on it's normal timeslot.

If you don't want to stay up late or record it, Discovery will be re-airing this episode on Thursday at 10 PM.

My cable doesn't have it listed as HD either. I could be wrong but I doubt they would have taken HD cameras to film this. If it is showing on a HD channel it's probably still 4x3 and just up-converted. I would be nice if I were wrong though. Please let us know how it looks.

It should be high drama tonight.
Spoiler:
Just my guess, but judging by the title of the episode("A Tragic Beginning"), it would seem that someone is going overboard.

Solid first episode. However, I am disappointed in the in your face sponsorship(the Lexus radar, the Yellow Pages crab count, etc).

Better to have sponsors pick up some of the bill than to have no show at all.

No. However, they said that they found a body in the preview for next weeks episode.

If I were Sig, it would be like NASCAR on the high seas with logos on everything.

Spoiler:
The ship that went down was a crab boat. The ship that was in the area and helping the Coast Guard in the search was a car carrier ship.

A cross between him and Rutger Hauer.

It was shown in a 16x9 aspect even on the SD Discovery channel, but is not on Discovery HD at all...kind of like Mythbusters, Dirty Jobs, and others.

I guess that the guys from the Maverick weren't kidding when they said that they wouldn't fish with Blake at the wheel. Too bad because I always liked Hiram.

I wonder what happened to the Rollo. No mention of them this season.

Good riddance to Hiram. He was a grouchy old bastard.

Anyone that quotes Ric Flair can't be all that bad(Stylin' and Profilin').

...and judging my Blake's performance to date (with much help from fellow captains) it is their loss since it is looking pretty darn good so far.
