I'm not sure I buy Clair and Charlie being so chummy again, wasn't it just a few days or weeks ago (last season in our time) that Charlie went a little insane and tried to kidnap the baby?
Loved the island stuff, but Claire's backstory is my least favorite. I was also shocked by Jack's supposed escape run.
Next week looks pretty sweet.

Ok here's what ticks me off about this show. I complain about it for a season and a half, take one week off, then scamper back and it has an awesome episode like this. Sigh, i'm such a tool.

Jack's appearance at the end ... that could be anything, and could most likely just be a giant red herring (like Jack just pretending to get along with "The Others").
At least next week we finally get

I was also wondering about the bird. Wouldn't the paper get wet in water or rain?

Count me in the group that was thoroughly satisfied with this episode.
My only complaint (not surprise) was Rousseau interupting Patchy when he was explaining stuff. But this is stuff that you expect from Lost, so it's hard to complain.
I think the ending lends itself to two possibilities for Jack: 1) He was brain washed; ala clockwork orange room 2) He is playing along with the Others to gain their confidence.
In either case, it was surreal to see him enjoying himself wiht the Others. Have we ever actually seen him this happy? He definitely seemed like a whole different person.

This show is a lot more fun if you yell "Gilligan!" everytime somebody does something stupid...
Desmond scares away the birds: "Gilligan!"
Locke kills the Russian: "Gilligan!"
etc...

Meh. I can't stand the whole Desmond and Charlie thing. Didn't care for Claire's storyline although catching one of the birds was cool.
The search party storyline is really cool though.

I really liked it, then again I like every episode.
Anybody else notice the map Sayid had, where it said "Subterranean Passage 20' Deep" in a couple different spots? They looked like pretty long passages...is this how Ethan and others got around the island so quick? And I wonder if that cemented door from the old Swan hatch lead into one of these tunnels?

I'm suprised everyone else was so shocked by the Jack reveal. We saw that he was willing to get off the island by himself, leaving all of the other Losties behind. I kinda had a feeling that he would be getting all Stockholme with the Others. Especially with that lovey-dovey shot with him looking at Juliet as they headed back to the Others' home. Still, really cool to see the Losties' reaction to it.
Anyone else thinking Locke wants to use the C4 for the submarine, or for whatever other escape vessel the others have? This is incredibely selfish if true (who's going to MAKE Locke leave?) especially if it's just because he wants some company on his magic island.

So when are they going to run out of food? I'm assuming they won't be getting any more drops. Wasn't something said about the submarine beacon not working since the hatch blew?

As for Jack, I will still say he's playing along. He seems too in control to allow brainwashing to work and smart enough to play along to make the others think it did.

Her character *is* fascinating. Imagine, a young girl who goes through a phase as a teenager where she dresses all in black and works at a tattoo/piercing parlor. That's, like, totally deep and stuff.

Patchy said they could leave but they couldn't return because the underwater beacon wasn't working. When they arrived for the firsttime , wouldn't they have fixed coordinates fo the island? Unless the island is moving.....

It makes sense to me that the Losties are clones. That would explain how all the Others know the history and details behind the Losties; they've basically setup an island of originals and set the clones loose (or vice/versa) into the world as an experiment.
Maybe the Jack we saw playing catch was actually a Jack clone who has always lived on the island. Meanwhile, the other Jack is on the island across the way still negotiating his release with Ben.
If I didn't already know who the next episode is about, I'd fully expect an episode about Jin and Sun's conflict with her dad or Hurley taking a dump.

That, combined with the reveal at the end should make for one solid episode.
