American Idol -- Final 24 Boy's Edition -- 02/20/07
The top 12 male contestants perform tonight. Please note that is a two hour show. I believe that two male contestants will be eliminated Thursday night.

I am sorry for the threadjack....
Who in here was in an American Idol pool last year?
A few of my friends want to do one and I was looking for a set of rules we could follow.
If anyone has them or can explain how they did it, I would greatly appreciate it.

EXAMPLE BALLOT:
1st Choice:_________ (worth 8 points if voted off)
2nd Choice:_________ (worth 4 points if voted off)
3rd Choice:__________ (worth 2 points if voted off)
Plus, then you get bonus points for picking the correct bottom three. Whoever has the most points after the finale wins the cash. It sounds confusing but it actually worked pretty well for us last year.

I would have put Chris Sligh in with other since he seems to be an early favorite. Sundance was impressive in his very first audition but he squeaked through Hollywood week.
I usually don't vote before I watch but I voted for Jared Cotter since I have no clue who that is.

I have no idea for the poll at this stage. I'm not matching many of the names with the voices/faces yet. I voted "other" since it seemed to triple my chance of being right
If Sundance sings horribly again and turns beet-red, he'll be gone. I think many in the viewing audience felt he got an unfair "free ride" through the Hollywood round, and might be looking to take it out on him if he doesn't impress. If not Sundance, it'll be one of the anonymous dudes that hasn't gotten much airtime yet. If they don't impress, people will just overlook voting for them. Guys like Chris, Shanjaya, and Blake should coast through on personality alone (though I think Blake will hit a stumble in the middle section of the season, when his beat-boxing won't be able to save him anymore).

High res pictures?
Last year there was a website with the full resolution publicity pictures of all the contestants and a group photo too. Anyone know where that was and if they have it for this year as well?

It's just not you... no one pops out for me either. There are a couple that are okay... but no one is great.

Last Year:
Taylor Hicks (Huge following from day #1)
Chris Daughtry (Great story, great audition/Hollywood)
Katharine McPhee (Great audition, grew as show went on)
Kellie Pickler (Fun from the start)
Paris Bennett/Lisa Tucker (Very good young talent)
The was of the cast was OK, but mixed well together.
2006 was "Magic", just like what Simon said to Taylor. That kind of season may never come again.

Proving that he had an ear for a hit, BMG offered Simon the position of A&R Consultant in 1989. His time at BMG saw him pioneer some of the biggest selling hits in the industry, including bands 'Five' and 'Westlife'. He can also be credited with the emergence of TV hits from the likes of cartoon puppets 'Zig & Zag', 'The Teletubbies' and 'Robson & Jerome'.

I seriously hate the Chris guy now. The teletubbies were a lot more successful than he will ever hope to be. Especially if he keeps trying to get by on his "humor". Almost all these guys suck. Especially Sanjaya Malakar. He shouldn't have even made it this far. Good lord that was bad. And that last alien head guy, is only making it due to the story about his baby. Otherwise he would be gone. Randy was crazy calling him best of the night. What a bad night. Even Ryan had more sand in his vag than usual.
Hopefully the girls are better.

Biggest disappointment: Sundance. He did great when he first auditioned but hasn't stepped up since.
Biggest surprise: Blake Lewis. The kid can sing. I'm keeping my eye on him.

Weak first night. Hopefully the women will bring it tomorrow.
I did like the beat box guy's performance. I didn't know the song, but he's got the right tone and voice for that type of music.
