An "only okay/nothing special" episode made brilliant by Barney's play.

There had better be more footage of that on the season 2 DVD.

"That's two."

The Ted/Robin storyline was only mildly amusing/interesting. I actually liked the Barney/Lilly B-plot better.

Of course, the slap bet was

I loved it. Pretty much awesome all around. Some really funny moments, most notably Barney's play and the slap. Ted's visions of the dogs were good too. I wonder how long they're gonna drag out Ted and Robin before finally breaking them up. How far are they gonna take this relationship?

I actually know someone who hates the word moist like Lily....the play had me in hysterics.

I was hoping they'd pick up on Slap Bet again...awesomeness

Neil Patrick Harris should be nominated for a Supporting Actor comedy award.

This was easily my favorite episode ever. The whole Barney play thing was gold and seriously I think I pee'd a little bit when Marshall got up and slapped Barney.

That's what I'm saying. The longer they drag this out, and the more serious Ted and Robin get, the harder it will be for the audience to accept anyone else as Ted's one and only.

Who's to say that the point of him telling his kids all this isn't so he can make clear that Robin IS his one and only and that their mother was just some cheap tramp he now hates? "God, Robin, why did I let you get away!!" And then his kids can tell him that he's a pathetic loser and should just get over it and move on already.

Okay, that's probably not gonna happen. But I can dream, can't I?

Exactly what I thought of when I saw that part.

Barney's play...

Really disturbed by the dog/ex-boyfriend imagery. Good stuff overall though.

I liked how the director announced a Q&A and Swarley went out of the room over the chairs in a mad panic.

Return of the slap-bet!

The slap was awesome.

Also liked the reactions to the announcement, Mashall and Lily all excited and Barney putting his face in his hands.

This is one show that rewards frequent watchers. I also loved "That's #2!".

So, what about Ted and Robin? In the first episode Ted called her Aunt Robin. Can they trick us and say that there's another Robin in the future, or Ted has a sister who's name is Robin?

But well, for me Ted and Robin are more like Chandler and Monica and not like Rachel and Ross, if you know what I mean. So in my case they can go either way, keeping them together or splitting them.

Tes has called all 4 of the other characters Aunt or Uncle when he's talking to his kids.

LOL. I'd forgot about that. Actually, my wife's college roommate hated the word (along with other words), so I would think up all sorts of creative sentences that would include as many of those words as possible.

I wish they were still friends. I would have called her last night, cued up Barney repeating "moist" and just let it roll.

Overall not that funny. It had some good moments. the slap bet ending was good. But the hitting so hard is unrealistic and makes it lose some of its humor. The joey pants were funny. A funny show that no seems be losing momentum. Especially Barney. Not that funny lately.

I thought it was an average episode. We were just talking about the slap bet.. when Marshall walks up there and slaps Barney.
