Nip/Tuck gets 22 episode order for Season 5

Looks like Nip/Tuck: LA will get Ryan Murphy back as well as a 22 episode order for season 5 this fall.

Hopefully Sean and Christian's move will re-energize the show, but I'm not optomistic about 22 episodes. This show has been losing steam the past couple of years and adding more episodes isn't going to help matters.

I'm assuming like The Shield, the season will be broken up into two parts and the second half of season five will become season six.

Either that or Nip/Tuck will run from September until March leading into the final season of The Shield. If that's the case, it will need to take a few 2-3 week breaks during that span.

22 episodes... I'm not exactly how I feel about this. I mean on one hand its amazing that they are getting that many (I think thats the mostly FX has ever given for a single season), but I'm not sure if the show can keep the steam going that long (usually by the season finale, I'm ready for the season to be over)... and if it is 22 episodes, that makes me believe that FX will do the 14 at once and then the FINAL 8 a little bit later (a la HBO)

I think they may just let the 22 eps run... I think this large order means that Dirt is about the take a dirt nap. I know that N/T can be ridiculous at times and sometimes drifts off on tangents, but I'm excited that F/X has so much faith in the show and are willing to bring it back for so many episodes...especially the way Season 4 ended, I think they're just rebooting their creative juices for a (hopefully) great 5th season.

Disagree. I thought that the Carver run (save for the reveal) was as good as the show has been. This season was also quite good. But S1 stands alone as almost perfect TV, i will give you that.

S4 was a nice rebound from S3. Yeah, nothing will top S1 - that's about as good as TV gets.

I agree... while season 1 was amazing quality that will be incredibly hard-pressed to surpass, season 3 was definately a funer/more interesting season, and one that definatley kept not only me (but my entire family, who has all since stopped watching the show sans me) glued to my television every tuesday night for 3 1/2 months.

I don't think I'll like that. I got fed up with the incessant whining and self-absorbed attitude of her character. The show would be better without her, as it's at its best when it focuses strictly on Sean and Christian.

I think a 5 episode season sounds about right.
